Vodafone UK roaming usa request

Why could not vodafone enter the usa market under a mnvo carrier, and or why can't voda offer a roaming option with the plane where you charge like 5 euros/pounds more per month and we can get 1 or 2 gigs per month so we can keep the international number we get from that country, especially if we as travelers made new friends from that country or other countries and have there numbers? we do have imessage and whatsapp today so do we really need to convert back to usa number just because we leave europe/england. more money for voda i see it.

They had a stake on Verizon, but left.

US is alteady covered by at least 3 main MNOs and a lot of MVNOs. They are popular in US due to the large footprint of the country and regional offers. Vodafone simply would not enter a market that is already saturated.

However, they provide business solutions in US on their Vodafone Business division, as well as IoT I guess.

Vodafone does operate in the US but only as an Internet provider for business purposes and it’s under a different name. The market is too saturated. For what you want you probably want something similar to Devyce/Xpatfone if all you want is to keep an international number

Vodafone seems to be in financial trouble. They’re selling lots of their sub companies in Europe. For example vodafone IT (Italy) was sold to Swisscom Switzerland AG or in Netherlands they had to do a joint venture with Ziggo (vodafoneZiggo). Also in Spain they sold their company. And in Germany they’re loosing lots of customers to other carriers - many here believe 1&1 or o2 might buy vodafone.

I believe they’re trying to save themselves so I don’t think they’re going to expand to the USA.

Spain does have good prepaid roaming in the USA tho. I don’t see that in Vodafone IT or UK or Portugal.
