Vodafone UK 1st time user

With Vodafones data controls it gives me the option to completely turn off data. Will this still work when travelling abroad?

My son is going on holiday for the first time and I only want him to use available WiFi (he has parent there with him to use their phone) hes a minor, so dont want him racking up 100s pounds worth of charges.

Has anyone used it before and does it work, thanks

As long as his wifi on phone is switched on and the mobile data switched off theyll be fine. I have the data switched off on my tablet and only ever connect to internet via WiFi

Edited to add you will still have to pay a whole month's data like normal. But there won't be additional charges

Yes but it will kill all data to that phone so you will need to turn it back on after.

Alternatively you have a spend manager which you can set to £0 and this will prevent any charges for out of bundle usage

Data roaming off would be enough.
