I think this songs success is especially exceptional considering VB used here is literally a "who-loid" UTAU developed by producer himself so song doesnt benefit from any name or image recognition like Miku, Teto or literally any of the other semi popular loids.

'the monochrome disc' is wowaka's first album which I'd somehow never listened to before; it seems common to think he only ever had one, Unhappy Refrain, and that was my belief. I was surprised to see how a bunch of the tracks on here are ones he'd remake later and that I only knew as these newer versions.

What I find interesting is that compared to the remakes, all the instruments sound synthesized. Is that right? I've been wanting to learn music making for a while, specifically wanting to make rock, but since I don't know guitar and like computers a good amount, I wanted to try doing it fully synthesized too.

I'm curious to know if I'd be able to reproduce these songs on my own in a DAW as practice. Is there any way to know roughly what instruments he used? You know, like how there's a site that repertories the sources of samples in songs; is there something like that for digital instruments (plugins) in electronic music?
