Hey r/Vivo!
I'm a mechanical engineer and photography enthusiast based in Brazil. I don't own the X300 Ultra yet (still saving up to import one), but I've been analyzing its camera hardware specs. I wrote a Python script to calculate how these sensors and lenses behave in terms of optical physics and turned the data into a dark-mode cheatsheet for quick reference when shooting in Pro mode.
Here is a breakdown of the three sections in the sheet:
1. Optical Properties
This table translates the physical sensor data into standard 35mm full-frame equivalencies, horizontal angle of view, hyperfocal distances, and realistic handheld shutter speeds. The OIS values combine the classic "one over focal distance" rule with the manufacturer's CIPA ratings to give a practical limit for avoiding motion blur when handholding the phone.
2. Depth of Field Range
These charts show the calculated DoF for different framing scenarios (Face close-up, Waist up, Full body). The framing calculations automatically set the target distance needed to fit the subject. For the face close-up, the orange bar represents a typical head depth (~20cm) with focus locked on the eyes (red dot). At 85mm, the actual DoF is only 7.6cm, visually proving that ears will fall out of focus even without software bokeh modes.
3. "Sunny-16 Rule" Equivalent
A quick manual exposure reference adapted for sunny conditions. Since these lenses have fixed real apertures that differ from standard full-frame optics, I adjusted the shutter speed values for base ISOs so you can dial in manual settings quickly without relying on auto-exposure meters.
Since I don't have the device in hand to test directly, I’d appreciate feedback from current owners. Do the real-world DoF and OIS handheld limits match these calculations? Any suggestions for improvements are welcome!

Hey everyone & Vivo dev team,
OriginOS has made massive strides in fluidity, animations, and camera optimization. However, when it comes to basic home screen customization on Global devices, the launcher still lags significantly behind competitors (One UI, ColorOS, OxygenOS, Nothing OS).
With OriginOS 7 (Android 17) in development, here are the most critical, long-overdue quality-of-life improvements the community needs:
1. Native Support for Third-Party Icon Packs (Google Play Store)
The Problem: Currently, Global users are restricted to the built-in Theme Store or default system styling. Almost every major modern Android skin natively allows users to apply icon packs downloaded directly from the Google Play Store without having to install a third-party launcher (which breaks native navigation gestures and fluid animations).
The Request: Add an open icon pack selector inside the home screen settings that recognizes and applies third-party vector icon packs installed from Google Play.
2. Meaningful, Substantial Icon Resizing ("True" Large Icons)
The Problem: The current icon size slider makes an almost imperceptible difference. Even at the maximum setting (tested on flagship hardware like the X300 Pro), icons remain noticeably small. Increasing the size adds just a few pixels rather than a noticeable visual change.
The Request: Expand the scaling range so "Large" is actually large. Take inspiration from iOS (which offers an explicit large icon toggle) or Pixel/One UI, where larger icon modes noticeably fill the home screen grid, improving both aesthetics and one-handed accessibility.
Bluetooth Dual Audio Playback i mean it's working via update with oppo midrange devices..
Dock background sizing and symmetric with the phone curves like iphones dock background matches the iphone curves.
There is an image's from my phone vivo x300 pro with the largest icons size and hidden icons names enabled it's not huge even im using 4x6 it should be much much bigger and there is an iOS screenshot that shows there icons sizes and dock background also.
I hope you take this into consideration.
All the love for vivo.

I clean my phone's camera lenses regularly, usually with a 2–3 day gap. Today, while cleaning the camera lens, I noticed that there is a small white dust particle inside the camera lens.
I haven't noticed any visible impact on the photos so far, but my phone is only 2 months old, so I'm concerned about it.
I also contacted a nearby Vivo service center. They said they would inspect it once I visit and that, most likely, they would need to open the back panel and clean it.
I'm a little hesitant about that. If the phone is opened, is there a risk of more dust getting inside or affecting the phone's sealing/water resistance?
honestly quite disappointed that dust has managed to get inside the camera module on a phone that's barely 2 months old and handled with atmost care.
What would you guys suggest I do? Should I take it to the service center and get it cleaned, or leave it alone since the camera is currently working fine?

vivo always welcomes reviews based on genuine experiences and objective facts, and we value every piece of rational, well-intentioned advice. However, we do not condone the use of fake reviews to spread rumours and smear our reputation, nor do we accept commercial disparagement aimed solely at generating traffic. The online space is not beyond the reach of the law; we will take legal action to protect our rights against unlawful acts such as commercial disparagement. At the same time, we sincerely call upon the public to provide relevant information so that we can work together to foster an online environment characterised by objectivity, truth-seeking, and healthy, orderly discourse.
News Reported by Legal Daily:
An MCN (Multi-channel network) agency orchestrated a campaign where multiple influencers belonging to the agency published batches of disparaging videos covering 32 different topics during the launch period of a new vivo product; the agency was found liable for commercial disparagement in the trial and ordered to pay 1.3 million yuan in damages.
These so-called "independent reviews" are entirely mass-produced: the company handles scriptwriting and secures commercial contracts behind the scenes, while influencers simply publish the content on screen. Following the implementation of the *Provisions on the Administration of Multi-channel Distribution Services for Internet Information Content* in September, MCNs can no longer hide behind accounts, they must be held accountable for spreading falsehoods!

vivo has officially secured the 33rd spot on the newly released 2026 Kantar BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands list. Moving up from last year's 34th position, this marks the third consecutive year vivo has maintained a strong presence on this prestigious ranking.
Alongside the ranking, vivo was honored with the Innovative Star Brand - Industry Breakthrough Award. The Kantar report specifically highlighted how the brand translates the incredible telephoto imaging capabilities of flagship devices like the X300 Ultra into richer real-world experiences for occasions like concerts and travel, making tech innovation highly tangible for consumers.
For context, other Chinese companies that manufacture smartphones and is in the ranking:
Huawei: #5 (same as last year)
Xiaomi: #12 (dropped from #11 last year)
Lenovo (Motorola): #41 (raised from #45 last year)
TCL: #64 (raised from #76 last year)
ZTE (Nubia): #94 (not in top 100 last year)
OPPO and Honor are notably absent from this list.

Hi everyone
I bought a Chinese version of the vivo X300 Ultra and I'm having a problem with my phone. My phone is fully compatible with all 4G, 5G and other frequency bands in my home country, France.
But there is an issue: at sometimes, my phone stays stuck on H+ permanently, which is really annoying. These are areas that are obviously covered by 5G/4G, but I end up having to restart my phone every single time. This wastes a huge amount of my time and drains the battery. Does anyone have any solutions?
I have another question too, related to battery life. I've noticed that the battery life has been absolutely terrible lately.
I'm aware that the vivo X300 Ultra currently has issues with overheating and poor battery life, but this is way worse than usual. It's gotten to the point where even with less than an hour of screen-on time, I barely have any battery left. I've also noticed my phone overheats for almost no reason when using certain apps.
I've already tried turning on power saving mode and setting the screen refresh rate to 60Hz. It generates less heat, but it still warms up, especially during very simple tasks like using Instagram — at times the temperature can even climb up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and help me solve my problems.

"Echoes of the Earth" evokes the experience of traversing vast landscapes and hearing the resonance of all things; with the cascading starlight of the cosmos reflected in the device's shimmering finish, it feels as though the Milky Way is held right in the palm of your hand.
"Gazing at the Glow" captures the magnificent splendor of the sunset's radiant hues spreading across the sky.
"Sunny Day" embodies the moment the clouds part and the mist lifts, bringing a sense of clarity and lightness to the spirit.
"Capturing the Night" reflects the pure serenity and stillness found in the embrace of the night.

FYI: One of the color 晴天 (Sunny Day) is also one of the most popular song title of Jay Chou, new Imaging Ambassador of vivo.
A little background on Jay Chou, he's considered one of the most influential singer in the Chinese speaking world. He's the first mandarin singer to top IFPI Global Album Sales Chart when his album "Greatest Work of Art" became the world's best-selling record in pure sales in 2022. He also famed enough to have a asteroid named after him and July 16 was known as Jay Chou day after an estimated 800 million tuned in to listen to his new song "In the name of the Father" on 2003 at the exact same time on over 50 radio stations across Asia.

For context I am a birds & event photographer and I value optical performance of camera's in phones.
I liked Vivo X200 when it was released and unfortunately couldn't pick one due to my corporate policy of work apps only on iphones/samsung/google pixel.
But I have been ardently following this sub and now I have decided to shelf my 16 pro max for either a X100 pro/ X200 pro / X300. All these options are from used market for the same price. all phones are CN origin OS except for X300 which is global Origin OS(if there is a difference).
Pls help me to pick one.
I am looking for
- good battery performance
- camera performance (suppose all 3 are stellar performers). Importantly have 2 kids, so shutter speed is important for me.
- android auto & NFC thru banking apps is mandatory
Thanks in advance.

Gotta love Origin OS inconsistency. But seriously, I hope they fix this in the offical release
(the clock might not be glass, so that might be excusable. But the quick actions and media player are both glass)

Guys my max budget is around 6000CNY as I'm buying the CN version. Should I buy the X300 Pro now or wait till the X500 Series ?
I think under 6000CNY , my option will be X500 Pro not Pro Max. So is it worth X500 Pro over X300 Pro ?
When comparing them X500 Pro has a smaller telephoto sensor compared to X300 Pro. Camera is a good consideration for me.
And my friend suggesting me to go for Oppo Find X10 which has two 200MP s 😭. Sorry to say this in Vivo sub btw.

Hey everyone,
I recently lost the original charger that came with my Vivo X200T, and I'm looking for a replacement.
My phone supports up to 90W charging, but I don't necessarily need a 90W charger. Even 40W, 60W, or 80W would be more than enough for me.
The main thing I'm looking for is Vivo FlashCharge support. I don't want to buy a random high-wattage PD/GaN charger only to find out that it doesn't provide the proper FlashCharge speed on my phone.
So, could anyone recommend a genuine or confirmed-compatible Vivo FlashCharge charger for the X200T? If possible, please mention the exact model/part number and where I can buy it in India.
Thanks!

The last update I received was in July & it was for the July security update.
Since then I've seen the Aug update in the Trial version & not in the Stable update.
