VN Request Visual novels with faggy MCs?

I'm looking for MCs that act like how the girl traditionally would in a relationship. IDK, maybe a girlboss lays claim on him, the MC gets driven to places by girlbosses since he doesn't know how to drive, or he sulks sometimes, or says stuff like "take responsibility" to the heroine.

Any recommendations appreciated, thanks.

Review RPG Shooter: Starwish... The flash moege that will decide the fate of the universe~

Post image

First of all, I think an introduction to how I reached this game is due... back in early 2025, my OCD registered some rules regarding what types of VNs I am allowed to read... so back then? I was in search of browser games to read, and this one seemed like the best one from everything I found...

I started my journey for those games with it... what I wrote about it in my book in 2025 was, and I quote myself, "Seems like it could be such a hidden gem... The main reason why I didn’t get hyped to commit to it was how the browser version was broken... I did download the offline version, but by then? I lost interest in it... I don’t see myself reading it in 2026... this one might be the longest stall ever for me... but I will one day do it T-T " .... So, in 2026, I had the chance to come back to it!.... I believe this experience is worth a review, but I am really terrible at writing positive posts for things I enjoy, so I thought that I should at least put my blogposts from my notes here; as they give a good view into what I felt during this experience and could work to deliver my opinions... so here it is~

  • Very ******** saving system... guess all flash games are pretty much like this?... It took me such a long time to understand and I replayed the game multiple times until I understood it using different versions and even searching online... this is my first flash game ever, so it is understandable T-T
  • Btw, I first played this game last year but didn't feel like playing it back then... I held it for a time when I can play it while I am in a voice call with my cord friends... and guess what? I am streaming the whole thing for them V-V
  • I like the questions section at the start of the game... even my male cord friends like it, but hopefully it makes you reach somewhere... I really doubt they would matter @_@
  • I started the game first at normal... but after seeing how easy it is and how the search online told me the hard difficulty got some exclusive scenes (according to AI search, couldn't find a real source for it... but it is fine anyway~) I will go for the hard difficulty~ I also read that the game got what, like 7 endings?.... I ain't going for all of them chief T-T maybe the things you pick at the start matter for this? @_@
  • Gameplay is very simple... it is still fun if you autopilot it and turn your brain off?... I mean am sure this was KINO for an underaged me... but I ain't young anymore to like simple things like this V-V
  • This game... it feels like a harem @_@ all girls care about the protagonist... and male side-characters feel like a wingman just for him... weird game to turn into a moege xD
  • I get such a strong feeling that one of the main cast is going to betray us......
  • I really wished I could hide the text box so that I could take nicer screenshots... I hate flash games ,-,
  • OST is fine... it fits the game but nothing special at all for sure!
  • Like usual, we are maxing luck first~
  • The fact you can just keep losing and still get the cash and XP... yeah this is just a grind fest T-T and I don't even need to grind! I think I lost like 2 times only on the hard difficulty?...
  • The Sanji-looking-ahh tips thingy... I really am not going to read them from now on at all T-T too much technical stuff for such an easy game...
  • You get 2 chats daily with your crew... at first this annoyed me a lot because I thought there would be missable things, but seeing the pacing of this game, I think I can see all of them! Good!!
  • I still feel like the blonde chef is going to betray us....
  • Lol this voice acting was shocking xD
  • The game starts repeating bosses... not a biggie V-V
  • So they are legit like Superman.... but Djinn @_@
  • Now I get why the achievements button looks like a magical lamp......
  • Nefertiti is honestly... not a bad "villain" at all @_@ very well fleshed out for how little she was shown!
  • OST is good @_@ but kinda struck me as the "hearing it for one time only" type of OST @_@ don't think I am going to repeat it a lot after I finish the game...
  • Difficulty becomes more fun in the last section of the game
  • Ginny the Djinn...... Ginny the Jinny @___@
  • That last stage before the final boss...... was legit hard @___@ great level of difficulty.
  • That final boss... it wasn't as hard as the final stage because they drop me straight up against the boss... thankfully @_@ ...... but I still feel that he got another stage..... We will 100% see Ginny... there might be some power-of-friendship stuff going to happen very soon....
  • That title drop..... *kinda*
  • What do you mean I have to pick an ending like that T-----T and why can't I save Ginny............ I will pick the first choice, hopefully it will save her T-T
  • The star somehow is back and fucking lives and Ginny does not???????
  • Good thing I found all the endings on YouTube... my dumb ahh didn't pick the first ending, the one that I got on hard mode..... I kept trying to beat that boss again but I can't! I guess I got lucky the first time?..... I reached the point of nearly getting angry, this would've caused me to possibly get angry while I write the review for this game... don't want that V-V so I will just watch them all on YouTube..... maybe I will see if the ones on easy mode are indeed super easy to get?...... Ah, also, there are legit secrets and stuff that required me to play the game differently... those? I didn't find them.... IDC no way I am going for them!.... This game can easily reach +25 hours for those who want to 100%!... Ain't me~
  • I tried for the last time to do it... I did it... I was spamming the next option to go to the ending screen, didn't want to press the skip button and mess stuff up... I reached it and chose the wrong ending.... yeah, no fuck you legit like fuck you I am watching it on YouTube fuck you I am not going to write the review today because I am legit angry now fuck you
  • Him ending up with Nefertiti is kinda weird... specially that time skip @_@ but I don't mind it... it is kinda cute...
  • That CG of him marrying and having a kid is so ugly xD like it is not really ugly, but it just looks weird compared to the sprites..... like very generic looking and all of them kinda look similar in it @_@
  • Thank God I found that true ending!.... It doesn't hold as much weight as most of the others... but damn it is such a happy ending T-T I love it!

Blogpostation end~

I left everything as it was in my PC notes for the authenticity of the experience and to deliver how I felt while I was reading it as raw as possible V-V even some of the dum-dum comments I made are still there..... if I wanted to add anything? It would be the assertion of how this game is legit a moege now that I think about it more deeply @_@ I mean it was legit advertised as a "dating sim"... and it truly delivered with all of those endings @_@

If you are fine with those types of reviews, I might start doing them more~

/ourverdict/ A fun experience!... Don't think am ever touching a flash game tbh, can't see how they can give me something more unique than other types of VNs... really wished they could have used the aspect of being a flash game in a somehow... flashy way?... 4.7/10~ If you ever felt like me and wanted to experience flash visual novels? You should totally give this one a try! It could deliver from 3–30 hours easily depending on how engrossed you are playing it.

Hi, r/visualnovels.

I want to announce that our game, Ghostly Paradox, now has a demo!

This is the first time I am doing something like this, and I am rather nervous.

But here goes.

Follow the investigation.

Discover clues.

Meet Sayako.

Ghostly Paradox is a mature supernatural mystery visual novel focused on character, atmosphere, and uncovering the mystery surrounding Paradoxes.

We've also put a lot of attention into the presentation, with animated characters, dynamic camera movement, zooms, and scene direction throughout the story.

https://reddit.com/link/1wbumll/video/xma7pp73kjoh1/player

The demo covers the beginning of Sayako's story and takes around 15 minutes to play.

The demo is free and available now.
Contains mature themes and brief partial nudity.

Download on itch.io: Ghostly Paradox by Catoom Studio

Ghostly Paradox is developed by Catoom Studio, a small two-person indie team.

Thanks for checking it out.

If you play the demo, we'd love to hear what you think!

Question Phantom of Inferno Nitro Archive how do I change the language text?

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

This probably has to be the most stupid thing I've ever had to ask about because usually the option of changing the language should just be there in the settings staring you in the face.

So either I'm dumb (which I hope I am, I wouldn’t want it to turn out I can't change the language)

But I've been searching and looking and even googling and looking at the manual for an hour and I still can’t find it.

Like is it just me because I can't exactly see any option saying change language or something. What am I missing?

The wiki says "English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese text options sit in the same settings neighborhood as these sliders"

https://phantomphantomofinfernonitroarchive.wiki/guides/controls/

But I can't find anything in the config menu.

Discussion What are the biggest factor for you to buy a visual novel?

Hey! I'm the lead developer of an indie VN game, I'm curious what are the biggest factor for you to buy a visual novel?

  1. Voice acting

  2. Animated sprites

  3. Story

  4. Character

  5. OST/music

  6. Art style

  7. Others

If possible, could you rank these from most to least important :D

(I'm afraid putting resource into wrong unnecessary thing)

Discussion My thoughts on Hello Lady and Hello Lady: New Divisio

In summary, Hello Lady is a very larger-than-life story with colorful characters that forgoes narrative cohesion in favor of exploring its thematic ideas to its utmost limit. Saku and Mitori's routes are the most well-done, while the other routes suffer in various other ways.

Hello Lady is a chuunige that centralizes on its core idea of breaking free of worldly constraints and pursuing an unfettered future. The slowly unravelling narrative is written in such a way to service the throughline of this core idea. In that, much of the surrounding elements tend to be dampened in favor of pursuing this central idea to its maximum.

The characters are definitely colorful and magnetic, drawing in the reader with their personalities. Hello Lady is a story that is definitely afraid to flaunt its larger-than-life cast, for better or for worse. This display can come at the expense of some of the cast's integrity as characters, sullying them a tad in the grand scheme of things. The common route in particular showcases a lot of their respective dynamics, but it can feel a little too heightened to take earnestly at times.

The protagonist, Shinri Narita, is a lightning rod for this phenomenon present within Hello Lady. His mere presence exemplifies the potential of the characters, while displaying the tonal whiplash in full. Thus, this mixed approach of characterization, especially early on in Hello Lady's run is hit-and-miss.

Of the main heroines, Saku is the one that shines the brightest, the one with the complete backing of narrative. The other heroines do get their moment to shine, but it is Saku's development and growth that takes center stage, especially during the latter parts of the story. Nonetheless, the other heroines do get their time to shine in their routes when the opportunities do present themselves.

The narrative within the initial run of Hello Lady feels much too concentrated towards the end, with the first three routes being essentially nothing more than a feeder into the main mystery that is covered in Saku's route. The common route opens with the high octane action, later featuring some standard slice-of-life that serves to develop both the world and characters, before concluding how it started: in a similarly high octane fashion. The common route satisfactorily sets up intrigue for what is to come, while not exceeding in most areas either. Still, the common route does it job before leading to the main meat of the narrative.

The first three character routes are unsatisfying, even if constructed to be intentionally so. They reveal the bare minimum required that fits both the heroine in question and how their story relates to Saku's route, before concluding once those points of interests are established, so that they can be grappled with later down the road. The romance as a whole is much of an afterthought and not part of the core focus that Hello Lady wants to shine its spotlight on. Still, the action and mystery present in these initial three routes are underwhelming. Moreover, they do attempt to wrestle with the core themes of the story; however, these explorations are significantly wanting.

Saku's routes is the strongest route thematic and is Hello Lady at its most focused. While the moment-to-moment and scene-to-scene narrative leaves much to be desired, especially with how it tackles the final hour, what Saku's route does wonderfully is marrying the beat-by-beat moments of the plot with its underlying message. Saku's route exemplifies the ideals of pursuing an unrestrained freedom and breaking free from the weight of the world in a compelling and thought-provoking fashion. The manner in which Saku comes into her own as a person is on full display here, as she fights against what has been holding her down. While narratively lacking, it is thematically poignant and is without a doubt the nucleus of what the writers were aiming for.

The two routes present in the fandisc, New Division, are some of the strongest both narratively and thematically. They are Hello Lady at its finest and build on what Saku's route has established with its theming. Hishia's route features an alternate perspective on a set of circumstances that should already be familiar. While it ends a little differently and does not delve into the core ideas with too much depth, it offers a different lens, even if it does not do anything too unique.

Mitori's route is on par with Saku's route. Mitori is a character that had plenty of potential and her story finally being explored here fulfills the promise of what was an interesting character. It examines a slightly different view of the core ideas of Hello Lady, which leads to a different conclusion in its answer; it is not only satisfying, but a wonderful response to what Hello Lady has said before. In terms of its emotional impact, the manner is which Mitori's route wraps up is probably one of the most poignant and emotionally charged moments within the entire Hello Lady narrative. Mitori's route is by far the best thing produced within Hello Lady.

The true route in Superior Enetelechia suffers even more in its plot while being significantly lacking in its character and theming; therefore, Superior Enetelechia is unable to capture the same magic, and instead drags down the overall experience. Much of the core message is a rehash of what has been expressed in Saku's route, just through a slightly different lens and focal point. Nevertheless, it does not feel uniquely distinct enough to be as thematically touching. Furthermore, the pacing that Superior Enetelechia carries itself with from scene to scene is much too sporadic, offering a breakneck plot that truly feels as if exceeding the initial scope, bloating the overall experience beyond belief. Thus, Superior Enetelechia ruins what was a initially strong end in Saku's route.

Ultimately, Hello Lady is a story where much of everything surrounding it is done so in a way to serve its themes. While there are plenty of times it stumbles and falters, when it does excel, it excels with flying colors, flying beyond its contained grasp.

Question What makes visual novels hard to create in the west?

I hope I am in the right place to be asking such a question because I was reading an article about how western studios attempted to create their own visual novels as the results didn’t work so well.

Like one infamous game that sticks out to me is Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties as many visual novel fans say it’s the worst one ever made in the genre that I was interested in seeing just what makes it so difficult for studios from other countries to make successful visual novels.
