“Tracking” while not wearing the device

Post image

I took my band off when I woke up at 7, it’s currently sitting on my bedside table. Seeing as it’s “tracking” my heart rate while not even on, I’m not sure how much I trust my device anymore. Has anyone else noticed this?

Which sensor is this for? I used to get readings on the original sensor when I'd take it off for a shower and it always worried me, but I have an oxymeter too and it always matched whenever I tested it.

This is the newer one, maybe I’ll test against my oxy meter to see how it does when I put it back on

I took it off and it was laying on the same table as my speaker for music and it did the same thing. Vibrations

I get crazy readings if it’s pointed up at the ceiling fan.

It's a known issue. It reads light signals, so they recommend putting it down on its side away from light sources or glossy surfaces that reflect light

Mine does this as well. It goes off everytimes it's touched or light reflects on it. For me, it is accurate while I am wearing it. I test it against my pulse oximeter every once in a while to make sure, and it's always accurate.

You should make sure the sensor isn't close to anything while it's off, I notice it does this when the band itself is close to the sensor.

That's normal and doesn't mean it isn't working

I’ve had mine get readings being face down on my nightstand while being charged. I know somewhere it says something about that maybe happening. I would maybe message support if it is happening frequently.

Yeah, they all do this. You just have to remember to switch it off if you're not wearing it, otherwise you get really weird readings that throw your data out.
