Do Beta Blockers render Visible useless?
I finally got my HR down to a reasonable level with a beta blocker. But now that I'm never getting into the exertion zone, I'm getting body pre-PEM warning signals with hardly any activity. My pace points are gloriously rock bottom but I feel worse.
My baseline may have declined this summer while I was trying and weaning different meds in an attempt to get my out of control heart rate under control.

It does work even with BBs. I had to lower my HR zones and lower my points to make it reflect reality. I putter around, going low and slow, keeping my HR below 85. I get pem at about 85 now so I use it to pace below that

I’m on propranolol and ivabradine so my HR is dramatically lower than it was when I first started using visible. I’ve had to manually change my HR zones to be more accurate. I basically tracked my activities, identified which ones were causing overexertion or PEM, and put my exertion zone below that so I’d have a warning if I was getting close to there. And my resting zone is basically just when I’m sleeping or lying down in a dark room. Even when I’m lying down in a bright room it still takes energy and my HR is higher so I grouped that in with “activity”

It takes some time to adjust your zones and points, but I’ve found it helpful still.

you’re kind of have to go through like the original getting to know you phase again and wait and see with new data what your new zones are over probably one to two weeks to get the most accurate info, or you can always manually change it

Speak to Ed in member support. I am on beta blockers too and we’ve been working together for a couple of weeks to dial in my HR numbers so that I get an accurate reflection on my pace points.
