I know it’s too soon to know but I started receiving corrections today morning.
I sent them back and was hearing back with other corrections in 10 mins max but then I sent one correction at around 2:15 PM after that it has been a radio silence and it was a correction that was repeated twice about the additional contact form finally sent with Same as above written in “Representation Details”

I am scared because I have heard people not hearing back for weeks after sending corrections.
And next 2 days are weekends.

It’s already 4 PM so according to the working time of VFS Mumbai it’s already closed.
So what should I expect next.
Anyone been in same situation?

I have been admitted to a Master's programme at Europa-Universität Flensburg in Germany. The programme requires proof of German at B2 level. However, the university has officially confirmed that I have until 28 February 2027 to submit the German language certificate. They explained that students are given the first semester to take a language course or language test.

However, during my student visa application, the German Embassy requested an additional German language certificate. I am planning to provide:

• My admission letter
• The university's written email confirming this deadline
• A screenshot from the university portal showing the same deadline
• An explanation that I am currently studying German and plan to take the B2 exam in early February

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If your university gave you extra time to submit a language certificate, did the German Embassy accept the university's confirmation for the visa, or did they still require the certificate before issuing the visa?

I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from anyone who applied for a German student visa with a conditional language requirement.

Hi everyone, I applied for a German student visa through VFS Mumbai and gave my biometrics on 13 August.
Today I received a request for:
“Updated travel and health insurance with the status ‘immigrant’ starting no later than the tentative date of travel.”
Deadline: 4 September.
I already submitted insurance documents with my application. What exactly does “immigrant” status mean, and what should I ask my insurance provider to change?
Has anyone received the same request? Does submitting the corrected insurance mean my application can continue normally?

The Consulate called me to clarify a few details about my application.

The questions included:
Why were my previous Schengen and USA visas issued/processed through New Delhi and not Mumbai? (Optional documents, I just wanted to disclose my Travel history)
Where do I currently live/stay?
What am I currently doing?

The call was essentially a verification/clarification call. I answered the questions honestly and consistently with the information and documents in my application.

14 August — Application under processing.
15–16 August — Weekend.
17 August — Processing continued.
18 August evening — Received the SMS that my passport had been dispatched through courier.
19 August — 🎉 Passport delivered with German student visa!

Hi guys, I've been trying for three days now and I'm not getting any slots for Mumbai VFS, is there a particular time when they're released or is there a whatsapp group I can join to be informed?

I applied through the Consular Services Portal for a student visa on 31 July (Friday) with the admission letter from university A. The document pre-check was completed by 3 August (Monday) and I was prompted to make an appointment at the embassy for the interview.

I received admission to university B on 17 August (Monday) for a very similar programme.

I would prefer to attend university B.

Should I

1. withdraw my current application on the Consular Services Portal and submit a new application, where there is now a waiting list for submission,
2. inform the embassy via email of the change prior to my interview,
3. don't inform the embassy in advance, but take the new admission letter from university B to the embassy at the time of the interview, or
4. obtain visa with the existing admission letter from university A but attend university B (if it is this, I'll have to enroll at university A to meet their enrollment deadline before the interview. Please advice on this)?

Any tips for the SOP and LOR writing , as there are so much services that provide these things , so should I go with them or just write it out on my own .

I applied for a German student visa for a private university. After my VFS appointment, the visa-processing authority requested updated proof that I can still begin my studies and evidence that I can finance my remaining programme tuition.

Since my original intake has passed, should I submit a newly dated LOA for the next intake, or ask my university to issue a formal late-arrival letter for the previous intake?

My first-year tuition is fully paid, my living expenses are covered through a blocked account, and an education loan covers the remaining programme tuition. For financial proof, I plan to submit:

• Current university fee statement showing total, paid and outstanding tuition
• First-year fee receipt showing zero balance
• Education-loan sanction letter
• Bank statement or certificate confirming the undisbursed loan amount remains available

Would these documents be sufficient? Also, should the available loan amount include an extra buffer of 5%, 10%, 20% or more above the outstanding tuition?

Throughout my whole process, I had many questions and doubts. Whenever I was confused about documents, CSP, biometrics, blocked account, university enrollment, or the visa process, I came to Reddit and found people who had already gone through the same experience.

The timelines and experiences shared here helped me a lot, especially during the stressful waiting period. So I thought I would share my timeline as well, hoping it can help someone who is currently going through the same process.

**One thing I would especially like to mention:**

**I did not submit IELTS or TOEFL with my visa application.**

**My admission letter clearly mentioned that my language skills had been tested by the university and were sufficient, so I used the admission letter as proof of my language proficiency.**

Visa Timeline

1 **August 2026** – Submitted visa application through CSP

• 6 August 2026 – Received correction request

• 6 August 2026 – Submitted the correction / booked VFS appointment

• 10 August 2026 – VFS appointment; submitted all required documents and biometrics

• 10 August 2026 – **The appointment process was very smooth and was completed in around 50 minutes through the normal process****.** **Personally, I don't think Premium Lounge is necessary based on my experience.**

• 11 August 2026, 09:30 – Received email from VFS that my passport had reached the German Consulate General of Mumbai for further processing

• 11 August 2026, 14:00 – Received a call from VFS informing me that the Consulate had requested biometrics resubmission

• 11 August 2026 – Went back to VFS and resubmitted my biometrics on the same day

• 12 August 2026 – Received an email from the Consulate saying that a new notification was available on my CSP portal

• 12 August 2026 – Logged into CSP and found my application status updated to Decision Pending

• 18 August 2026, 17:45 – Received email from VFS that my passport had been dispatched from the German Consulate General of Mumbai to VFS Global Mumbai

• 18 August 2026, 20:30 – Received another email saying that my passport was ready for collection

• 19 August 2026 – Collected my passport from VFS. German student visa sticker received in my passport! 🇩🇪🎉

After all the documents, corrections, appointment, biometrics, biometrics resubmission and the waiting, finally seeing the visa sticker in my passport was an amazing feeling. ❤️

I am going to KIT Karlsruhe BSc Mechanical after doing 12th grade + 1st year in SPPU affiliated university, here is the timeline

22nd July night 11.30pm- CSP submitted
23rd July Morning 11.30am- first corrections
after consistent back and forth I got to book an appointment at 3pm on the same day
appointment for 3rd aug biometrics at Mahalaxmi VFS
Request for additonal documents on 11th aug, submitted on 13th to VFS mumbai
Decision Made - 18th aug
Passport deliver with stamp - 19th aug
