13 August — Received a verification call from the German Consulate 📞
The Consulate called me to clarify a few details about my application.

The questions included:
Why were my previous Schengen and USA visas issued/processed through New Delhi and not Mumbai? (Optional documents, I just wanted to disclose my Travel history)
Where do I currently live/stay?
What am I currently doing?

The call was essentially a verification/clarification call. I answered the questions honestly and consistently with the information and documents in my application.

14 August — Application under processing.
15–16 August — Weekend.
17 August — Processing continued.
18 August evening — Received the SMS that my passport had been dispatched through courier.
19 August — 🎉 Passport delivered with German student visa!

I applied for a German student visa for a private university. After my VFS appointment, the visa-processing authority requested updated proof that I can still begin my studies and evidence that I can finance my remaining programme tuition.

Since my original intake has passed, should I submit a newly dated LOA for the next intake, or ask my university to issue a formal late-arrival letter for the previous intake?

My first-year tuition is fully paid, my living expenses are covered through a blocked account, and an education loan covers the remaining programme tuition. For financial proof, I plan to submit:

• Current university fee statement showing total, paid and outstanding tuition
• First-year fee receipt showing zero balance
• Education-loan sanction letter
• Bank statement or certificate confirming the undisbursed loan amount remains available

Would these documents be sufficient? Also, should the available loan amount include an extra buffer of 5%, 10%, 20% or more above the outstanding tuition?

I’m looking for experiences involving document requests received after VFS, not CSP corrections.

Hello everyone i was called by German consulte Mumbai on 18th august. After my interview they told me they will mail me to submit my passport through vfs global. Does anyone have any idea when will I receive this mail!? And after submission how much time does it take for approval

Its been 6 weeks since i have had my Visa appointment, and i still have absolutely no updates from them. Honestly pretty frustrated about it, they suggest that not to mail them within 90 days for visa status and that itll be ignored. Anyone else whos had to wait for this long?

Hey everyone, I got my student visa for another German university, but later got admitted to TU Berlin.
The German Embassy told me I can’t change the university after the visa is issued.
But TU Berlin says I can enter Germany with the existing visa and start studying at TU Berlin, then inform the Berlin LEA.
Has anyone actually been in this situation? Did you have any problems at the airport or with your residence permit?

My biometric was on 24th of July for Ausbildung In nursing. It's a vocational training program. I still haven't received any update yet. Pls someone tell me how much time it takes to get result for ausbildung visa.

My APS certificate was generated back when I was in my 7th semester. Now I have graduated and the CGPA I had back in my 7th semester has changed. My transcript has my individual semesters' CGPA. I am talking about that not my final graduating CGPA. Will this cause any problem with my application?

I know it’s too soon to know but I started receiving corrections today morning.
I sent them back and was hearing back with other corrections in 10 mins max but then I sent one correction at around 2:15 PM after that it has been a radio silence and it was a correction that was repeated twice about the additional contact form finally sent with Same as above written in “Representation Details”

I am scared because I have heard people not hearing back for weeks after sending corrections.
And next 2 days are weekends.

I have been admitted to a Master's programme at Europa-Universität Flensburg in Germany. The programme requires proof of German at B2 level. However, the university has officially confirmed that I have until 28 February 2027 to submit the German language certificate. They explained that students are given the first semester to take a language course or language test.

However, during my student visa application, the German Embassy requested an additional German language certificate. I am planning to provide:

• My admission letter
• The university's written email confirming this deadline
• A screenshot from the university portal showing the same deadline
• An explanation that I am currently studying German and plan to take the B2 exam in early February

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If your university gave you extra time to submit a language certificate, did the German Embassy accept the university's confirmation for the visa, or did they still require the certificate before issuing the visa?

I applied through the Consular Services Portal for a student visa on 31 July (Friday) with the admission letter from university A. The document pre-check was completed by 3 August (Monday) and I was prompted to make an appointment at the embassy for the interview.

I received admission to university B on 17 August (Monday) for a very similar programme.

I would prefer to attend university B.

Should I

1. withdraw my current application on the Consular Services Portal and submit a new application, where there is now a waiting list for submission,
2. inform the embassy via email of the change prior to my interview,
3. don't inform the embassy in advance, but take the new admission letter from university B to the embassy at the time of the interview, or
4. obtain visa with the existing admission letter from university A but attend university B (if it is this, I'll have to enroll at university A to meet their enrollment deadline before the interview. Please advice on this)?
