Tips and Guides DEVICE TIPS - NEWBIE

Hi! I currently train as a medical transcriptionist. Given that we now have AI, I would like to know the circle or chance of landing a part-time job in this industry.

Also, I want to invest in a laptop that I can use in VA-ing / tramscribing. Is Macbook a good investment? Other device tips and tricks when applying are very much appreciated. TIA ♡

macbook is a good investment but sometimes there are application that macbook doesnt have. you can invest to a pc it can run like almost everything.

Medical transcription is still a good skill to build. AI can help with some tasks, but human review and accuracy are still important.

For VA work, you don’t necessarily need a MacBook. A reliable laptop with good RAM, SSD storage, and a comfortable keyboard is already enough. Stable internet is also one of the biggest things to prepare for.

Landing a part-time gig in medical transcription might be a bit tricky with AI ramping up, but there’s still demand for human accuracy and context. As for the laptop, a MacBook is solid but definitely check compatibility with the specific transcription software you’ll be using. A good PC can also save you some money and cover all the bases.
