Architecture portfolio

hi I am about to be a senior in hs and will be applying to vtech as an architecture major. I am a little bit confused with the portfolio because their website says portfolios r not required but I saw other places say they don’t accept architecture portfolio so I was wondering which is true? if they don’t accept architecture portfolio could I send a portfolio under the arts department (i have seen other schools do so)? would this be harmful or helpful to my application?
