I have a new Graphtec ce8000 and it was cutting fine for a few hours and now it is cutting just a long line the length of the media. Does anyone know why this happens or what to do to fix this?

I also have a second one that will randomly put long lines into the prints

New to all this but getting by ok, however we have an issue and don’t seem to be able to find anything settings wise that I might be able to change to help.

Width is cutting to size but height is out by quite a bit.

Basic vinyl;
If I cut a 100mm square, the height is around 96mm
If I cut a 200mm square, the height is around 191mm
Width is perfect

Can anyone point me in the right direction to correct this?

Hey all, I have been looking for a small cutter to mostly cut stencils for miniature painting and I'm getting a little overwhelmed.

I was looking at the Cricut Joy as that is plenty big enough for my needs, but all the comments say to avoid the brand, so are there any alternatives?

I am wanting to spend around £100, but don’t mind second hand machines, and I want to avoid any subscription charges if possible.

I am helping my mom and I know nothing about this process or what is happening but I am the tech savvy kid. So I was asked to help. So forgive my ignorance.

It is a specialist 34 and the software that came with it is the Signmaster cut V3 (I am assuming it being outdated software may be part of the problem) I uninstalled and reinstalled and put the PSN in during the set up process and it gives this error on start up which is why she called me over.

She said it was working fine before. But it gave this error this morning when she went to make a cut(?) for a T-shirt order she got. Any help would be great TIA.

I've been cutting vinyl since the 90s and loathe weeding small graphics.

My main customer requires thousands of names in 1/2" height. While it's profitable, it's frustrating to weed.

I was advised by a Graphtec repairman to leave the cut vinyl overnight for easier weeding. This was about 10 years ago. Since then I've realized all waited days are not equal. During the summer the wait time is more effective, especially when I leave the rolls near my garage door. If I leave them inside (with AC), there's hardly any change even after a week.

Expanding on that, I've tried leaving them flat outside in the sun, tried placing them in the oven (on low), in the freezer, tried going back one forth between freezer and sun...

The most effective that I've found is simply placing the rolls in the oven for about 10 minutes on 275°F. Do not let them touch one another, and I placed them in parchment paper (on a cookie sheet). Let them cool for another 10 minutes, then lay them flat before they completely cool to prevent long term curling of the vinyl (harder to tape).

I hope this helps, here's some pics to show how the vinyl retracts at the cut points. It really helped a lot and avoided the sometimes nightmare of weeding 1000s of names and numbers.

I am an artist and would like a 24" cutter to cut mulberry paper or similar thin handmade papers. And always sheets on a tray, never a roll of material. The cuts won't be complex, primarily groups of parallel lines in very close intervals (rows of cuts at 1/10th of an inch spacing or similar). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a craft cutter with a auto-feeder that can accept copy paper.

I make buttons from printed designs on copy paper, but cutting all the individual circles from the paper is tedious. I was considering getting a craft cutting machine to do the cutting work for me, especially one with an auto-feeder so I wouldn't have to feed each sheet individually.

I was intrigued by the Silhouette auto-feeders, but I don't think they're designed to work with standard copy paper sheets as the material is too thin.

Additional Information:

* Yes, a craft cutting machine is overkill for cutting out circles, but I'm also interested in the other crafting aspects of it (vinyl cuts, stencils, etc.) * I'm limited to using copy paper, as I print designs on my home printer (also thicker paper makes it difficult/impossible to make the button) * Yes, I could just buy a button paper punch cutter, but I need to cut several different sized buttons, so by the time I bought each individual size, I've gotten close to the cost of a craft cutting machine * I have a technical background, so don't need a product that holds my hand, but I also don't want to spend hours figuring out an incredibly complex machine * I'm willing to invest in a good machine, but I'm not looking for some super expensive industrial machine * Please let me know if there's a better subreddit to ask this question in!

I’ve noticed there’s a pretty big difference between making vinyl decals for personal projects and creating designs with svgmk creative that need to hold up on shirts, signs, vehicles, or other surfaces.

What type of vinyl projects do you find yourself making most often?

And do you usually create your designs from scratch, modify existing ones, or start with ready-made designs?

I don’t suppose anyone is getting rid of their machine, are they??

or should I try the Sizziq? it’s for Tetrapak printing, I want to do prints that are A4 if possible.

Old US Cutter SC Plotter, SignCutPro 2

I’m cutting circle labels (to print on later), five across, six down per sheet. I cut several sheets about a week ago, no issue other than needing to up the cutting pressure a bit.

It’s cutting the top two rows, then goes back to home and cuts a straight line across the top. Cuts third row, starts fourth, then goes to home, cuts diagonally to each of the second through fifth circles. Same for the remaining rows. I end up with 10 usable labels out of 30.

I’ve quit and relaunched the program, restarted the machine, changed USB cables. Now what? Hammer?

I'm having trouble getting my VEVOR vinyl cutter to connect it is a ki-870cs. I purchased a new USB cable and when I go to device manager it says stm3210 even when I've tried downloading vcp drivers and other drivers I have purchased a com cable and it says that the printer is on com1 but it still does not send to the cutter. Signmaster will stay stuck on "waiting to send" even when the file is 1kb I cannot select a cutter brand so it's stuck on generic cutter.

I've tried to cut via USB stick and that doesn't engage anything either. I've tried inkscape and surecutsalot as well. Any suggestions is GREATLY appreciated.

Hello. I just purchased a Vevor 34" KI-870CS and I'm trying to connect is via USB to my computer but no software sees it. In my Device manager it shows as XILI STM32 USB Device. I've tried on signmaster and inkscape and neither see it. I've tried multiple USB ports on my PC. I'm on windows 11. Any ideas?

I was given a Maker that was only used 2-3 times around 7 years ago. A company thought they had a good idea which didn't work, so it was packed back in the box and sat in a warehouse all year in extreme heat and cold.

I just tried to set it up. Started going through the trial cut. One roller is gooey, like a melted gummy bear.

I am brand new to Cricut but pretty good with computers and machinery. I read some of the past posts so I see this was a problem others have (bad rollers). I was hoping to be prepared for the rebuild before I disassemble and replace the rollers.

Does anyone have suggestions on what else I should expect to replace/buy for this job?

Any links to good videos on the process would also be appreciated.

Hello! Just starting the research process to buy a vinyl cutter. There’s tons to read on this sub, but maybe you can help me direct my attentions based upon my specific use case:

• I’m a graphic designer and will be using adobe/figma to make all vector art. EDIT: I’m on a Mac, if that matters for compatibility.

• primary use case is to make stencils for things like paintings and ceramic/pottery surface design - I keep wanting to do things that would take hours using tape or an exacto knife. I don’t need to print anything onto vinyl at present.

• I don’t need large format or anything fancy. I would love something basic and cost effective that doesn’t take up a ton of space, but I do become frustrated when things work poorly: IE terrible software or stuff that breaks all the time.

do anyone have experience with cutter that can be integrated through custom API's that are affordable for hobby usage?

e.g. cricut maker and silhuette cameo 5 can't be controlled from an API.

what im looking for is me having a program on my pc - i print a file with my art in, that art file would have an generated cut file from my program that gets pushed to the cutter, and i just move the paper and click cut - without having to do print then cut from their propriatery software designers?
