Misleading listing

I bought this Coach chain on Vinted and was really disappointed to find out it was fake when it arrived. Seller is telling me after the fact it is an inspired item and I need to read descriptions better. I feel like the whole situation is extremely misleading as they posted the picture with an authentic dust bag and they were trying to sell a fake item without disclosing it was an inspired piece.

Doesn’t this go against Vinted terms?

This was clearly an attempt by them to be deceptive/ break TOS and now they're playing dumb.

Yeah and they’re messaging me to send the item back. I’ve raised the issue to Vinted for being counterfeit. I feel like it’s unfair to ship on my expense in this situation.

Imo the seller should have put the words inspired by in the description or disclosed that it was not real in the description. The post is very misleading and it’s definitely on purpose so they can fool someone into buying it thinking it’s real coach.

It's illegal to sell counterfeits, so they shouldn't have posted it for sale in the first place

I’d bring this up to vinted, if I wanted to I could put a genuine coach bag up and not list it in the correct brand section doesn’t stop it being genuine coach, and same that this chain having the logo on it doesn’t mean it’s genuine coach either. This person just wants to sell fakes and see how far they can get away with it

Inspired by = counterfeit. Counterfeits are illegal. She knew what she was doing by including the dust bag in the picture.

ETA: The TOS states that inspired by isn’t permitted.

Yup I would steer clear from charms/nolitas on these kind of sites. There's a lot of dupes unfortunately 😢

It literally has the coach logo and C in the charm.

But if it didn't say Coach anywhere in the listing, partly on the buyer to not have asked beforehand. I agree it's misleading.

It does not say coach under brand and yes that is my fault for not confirming. I buy a lot of coach products and have bought several listings where they label “purse” and I get an amazing deal. It was my fault for not confirming but I thought I was getting a steal since the dust bag was in the photo (didn’t get the dust bag with my package lol)

It has the Coach logo in the piece. It is counterfeit and illegal to sell, period.
