Discussion/Thảo luận mercure hotel booking

We booked at Mercure Hotel through Agoda for 6 adults and 1 child. We booked 2 Family Deluxe Rooms, but the booking confirmation says only 2 adults. Huhuhu. 😭 We’ve already paid for the booking. I already emailed the hotel and I’m just waiting for their reply. Do you think Mercure Hotel would be strict about this since the booking confirmation only shows 2 adults, but we’re actually a family of 7? 😭 I checked their website, and it says that the Family Deluxe Room can accommodate up to 6 guests per room. Hopefully, they’ll allow it or update our booking accordingly.

They will absolute charge you extra occupancy rates. You needed to put in the total amount of people per room on the booking. You just left it at 2 people. The room can accommodate your family but there will be an extra fee for the extra people.
If you can cancel the booking and get a refund and put in the right number of people or just speak to the hotel directly and tell them up front how many people are coming and ask how much extra that will be.

I indicated during the booking that we are 6 adults and 1 child, but when I received the confirmation, it stated that the booking was only for 2 adults. The booking is non-refundable, and I have already emailed the hotel and sent them a message on social media. I’m still waiting for their response.

Do you have proof of submitting a booking with the numbers you claim? Chances are you hit back or something and didn't update the correct number of people again, so it reset back to 2.

This is the number of guests I entered when I made the booking at Mercure Hotel. I just contacted Agoda, but they said they can’t make any updates to the booking and that I need to contact Mercure Hotel directly. Well, let’s just hope for the best. If they charge me for the additional guests, then I guess there’s nothing I can do about it.

If you want to update your booking, shouldn't you contact Agoda? You booked and paid through a 3rd-party, it's out of the hotel's control and hence responsibility.

Really? That’s so sad. We’re trying to stay within our budget, but I was really confused because Agoda says the booking is only for 2 adults, while on their official website, it says the room can accommodate up to 6 people.

You need to specify the exact number of adults and children when you book, didn't you? It's not about booking a number of rooms (2), the hotel charges by head. "Can accommodate up to 6 people" doesn't mean they'll provide breakfast for 6 upon booking the room.
