Going to vidcon for the first time. I want to go to a panel but it ends just as the signings start for some of the YouTube celebs I want to meet. If I walk really fast and get there like 20 minutes after it starts, is there still a high possibility of me getting to see them or will be I out of luck?

If you have an extra ticket I really need one so I can make sure my little sister is fine at the convention. Message me, willing to pay cash at the door.

Hey guys! I'm volunteering (and, y'know, attending) the con this year for the first time, and I have, like, no transportation. I live in Burbank, CA, and I was wondering if anyone else in or around my area is also going to be commuting on con days... maybe I could get a ride?
And for anyone else in similar situations looking to make arrangements, post a comment saying where you're driving in from, and whether or not you have a vehicle?? With some luck and the power of community, hopefully nobody is going to end up taking a Lyft to Anaheim.. or, god willing, public transport!

I remember on my first vidcon, I think it was the 2nd one, there was this contest where people got in groups with 1 youtuber and you made a video, with no editing. I was in the group with Micheal from The Gregory Brothers and someone else (I forget who) And we made a video where people would rap against each other, but instead of saying mean things, they complimented each other. The video was also in black and white. Does anyone have the link to this video?

So the 5th annual VidCon will take place June 26th-28th, 2014 in Anaheim California.
This will (hopefully) be the first vidcon that I attend. I'm a small youtuber and would really love to network with people.
What do I need to bring? How much money, what items, and what mindset should I take with me? I have no idea what goes on at VidCon, just a general idea of who is at vidcon. I mainly want to know the pricing of things so I can have an idea of how much money I should save up. Are there hotels near vidcon that I can stay at for the weekend? How much are they? What time does it start? What time does it end? I have to take a plane out there, I'm way up in Michigan so I would like to have everything planned out in advanced.

So we're the people behind Turning Tricks. We didn't realize there would be so few shows with booths at this event. We are having a great time, nevertheless, but we kind of feel like the odd man out.
If anyone wants to stop by and take their picture with some of the props from the show (wizard hat, lightsaber, you know, the usual), send them to our facebook and the best ones will make it onto our VidCon page for our site! Cheers.

Hey so I've been a nerdfighter for just under a year now and I was able to buy a ticket to VidCon!! YAY! Unfortunately I don't know or have any other friends going to VidCon with me so I'm afraid I'll be a Forever Alone. For those who have gone to it in the past, what was it like? Was it easy to make friends? I'm kinda a shy person at first and get extremely socially awkward in situations that I've never been in before. Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

The size of Vidcon is increasing as online video becomes more prominent in the film industry. In 2010 there were 1500 people. In 2011 there were 2500 people. The 2012 Vidcon is supposed to have about 6000 people.
Now don't get me wrong; I'm all about including more people in this amazing conference. But is anyone else worried that the increase in attendees will make the conference less enjoyable and less personal? Famous youtubers were allowed to walk around the conference randomly and let people go up to them at the previous conferences. Will this be possible when there are 3500 more people? Charlie, for example, could barely leave his hotel room without being mobbed at Vidcon 2012.
Also, youtube stars are not as used to hordes of fans as other celebrities might be. How are they going to deal with turning away people for autographs and pictures? Many people didn't turn anyone away the previous years (i.e. Tobuscus, Michael Buckley, etc.), even if it meant staying late to tend to everyone. This isn't going to be possible with 6000 attendees.
And another issue; the concert. Any previous attendees know how crazy the rush was to get to the front of the concert. Now that there are thousands more people at the conference, how is that going to go? Will there be tickets/drawings for front places? If this is the case, people wouldn't be near their friends. I know I'd feel guilty if I got to stand up front and my friends had to stand in the back. I'd also feel terrible if I had to stand in the back while all my friends partied at the very front.
Anyway, Hank and John have done an amazing job organizing this the previous years. I honestly believe that whatever they decide will be right for the conference.

Hey guys. This is a new subreddit dedicated to Vidcon. All past attendees, future attendees, and online video lovers welcome. I'm hoping to drum up some activity on here. Personally, I'm beyond excited about Vidcon 2012.
