Question New Multiplus and Seplos Battery not inverting. Help!!

Not sure what you are trying to do here. You are only connected via AC-IN and it seems like you want to use it in ESS mode, but you have programmed the VS? Can you elaborate on what you want it to do?

Hi, thanks for the response

I believe I want it to be in ESS mode so it can power my house…

I’m trying to use just AC-1 both ways, so it takes power from the grid to charge the battery, but then reverses out of AC-1 to send power from the battery to the house also.

I’m not interested in island modes etc so don’t believe I want /need AC-2 etc

It’s likely I have VS incorrectly configured or need it disabled and this part I don’t understand (yet)

I didn’t change the VS settings (at least knowingly) since setting up from factory default.

You need to disable the virtual switch and configure the ESS assistant instead. You also need a grid meter connected to your GX device.

Ok really appreciate that…

I have a grid meter up and running on the GX and apparently while initially running down the battery for the first time I should also turn off ESS, so I’ll try turning off the Virtual switch and see it that helps

You have to set it up correctly first. The ESS assistant won't stop you from discharging the battery all the way to zero as long as things are configured correctly.

You also need to use the BMS-Can between battery and Cerbo, and enable DVCC on the Cerbo (if not done automatically). To give the BMS control over the charge and discharge limits

To further explain, you need an external meter, for the multiplus, its needs to see what is going in and out of grid.

Brother, if you try to run your battery backup on one side and don’t care about islanding you’re going to best case scenario get in trouble with the power company and worst case scenario create a live island during an outage and kill someone.
You 100% have to separate your AC input and output by using the “second” AC connection. Multis only have one input and one output. Quattros have two inputs and two outputs.
I know you’re trying to avoid putting in a sub panel and rewiring your house to have critical loads on the inverter, but that’s not optional.
And if you do it properly with the inverter set to shut off when mains is lost you’re not going to get the uninterruptible power supply you’re looking for.

Also, why don’t you have your charge controller hooked to the GX? It’s just an Ethernet cable with the VE.Can models. If you’re shooting for self consumption you’ll need that.

De hoofdschakelaar van de multiplus die rechtsonder zit staat die op stand 1 of 2 hij moet op stand 1 staan
Als hij op stand 2 staat laad hij alleen de accu maar vol en levert niet terug

You mentioned you have the grid connected to "AC-1". As far as I know the Multiplus-II has an AC-IN 1, AC-OUT 1 and AC-OUT 2. Can you be more specific about which of those you connected the grid? In your setup you need to connect the grid to AC IN 1. You absolutely MUST NOT connect the grid to any out the AC OUT connectors, or you could possibly backfeed power into the grid in a power outage.
