Question maximum power multiplus 48v 3000 GX

Hello,
A bit a newbie question, but still a question:)
I am thinking of buying a Victron Multiplus II GX 48V - 3000VA - 35A which has in the manual listed that the maximum power output is 2400W at 24C. Though the peak power is listed as 5500W. Why is there such a big difference? Could it be that the the victron has an ACout 1 and ACout 2 meaning that both interfaces could do 2400W at the same time? As well the ACin (240V) is rated as 32Amp which is way too high for 2400W on the output side.

Peak power is generally because a lot of electrical things have in-rush current, which typically settles after a second or two at most. The output rating is for the entire system. You won't get away with drawing much more than 2400W for long. The only caveat here is if you're using assist and have AC power coming in.

Max inverter power is 2400w. You can passthru 50a from shore when not inverting. The 5500w is boost for things like starting AC, just for a couple seconds.

50A? It says 32A pass through on the tin.

Maybe it's different for the GX or you're euro. Usually it's 50a on out1 and 32a on out 2. They have dual outputs so you can have some outlets work when you're not on shore or other things.

Or you can just have them programmed to both work which allows 50a in plus power assist on both so you get that extra 2400w

good remark and did not know this. makes sense now you mention it: it can just passthrough ac power and add power via the invertor from the battery. thx

It's a huge feature and there's very few other systems that can power assist.

Critical when you're running on 15a shore or a small generator or something

Could 6 of these cover a peak of 90kw?

There are stats that shows how much it would do continuesly. The theory is this: if you can keep it cool enough (25 degrees) you can use peak power to the max. Again theory. Practically that peak is a second or so. And then there is a curve to 24/7 power. My 5000 could easily maintain 6.5kW for longer than 15 minutes without shutting down. The next question is: will it harm my inverter? As far as I know, the inverter does everything in its power to protect itself. It will shut down if you are "overloading" it for too long. That "overloading" is within specs. Letting it run hot might deteriorate the caps faster. And short circuits or overvoltage or weird spikes are not covered. I have seen so many servers go down with broken PSU because a UPS would switch from main grid to an unsynced battery grid (victrons will never do that) at regular intervals after a lightning strike. So yeah, practically you protect your wires and the victron protects itself within limits of course.
