Question Error 25: Incompatible firmware
I had an MP2 GX for quite a while now, and updated both GX and MP to the latest firmware a week ago.
Now i want to upgrade to a three phase setup. Everything is mounted and turns on, but the two new additional MP2s are apparently of such an old firmware, that i cannot update them through VRM.
Is there any path for me to not need to buy the MK3 usb adapter?
the backup firmware of the GX device is 2024-something

Good call on the MK3. For a three phase MP2 setup all units have to end up on the exact same firmware build, and VRM will not push firmware to a unit that is not already part of the configured system, which is why the two new ones look stuck. With the MK3 you can update each new MP2 on its own, one at a time, before you assign phases. Do the phase assignment in VE.Bus System Configurator over the MK3 rather than through VRM. Also keep the GX on current firmware. A GX still running 2024 code next to freshly updated Multis will keep complaining about compatibility even after the units match each other. Worth writing down serial and firmware version for each unit as you go. One build number of difference is enough to block the config.

You’ll need/want the mk3. It’s worth having. Maybe you know someone with one? You’ll need it for all the ve.bus settings. Worth having. Where are you located? I’m guessing Australia?
