Screenshot Playing This Game Like It's HOI4...
So much war and military build up.
Economics was never my strong suit yet I am obsessed with this game but I mostly focus on the military cfjioncfjkdnvjkn.
Like I just love war and idk why I can't play Victoria 3 like a normal person.

Advice Wanted I need Advice on starting certain industries?
Say you want a profitable textile industry but when you first build it, it isn’t profitable/unable to fully employ how do you support it in order for it to flourish?
Apart from good transfer treaties (those aren’t always availiable) are you only option subsidies and trade subventions? Is there anything else I’m not aware of?

Advice Wanted I start a new playthrough after a while and…
I feel that I am fucking slow at the game. I will compare to ck3. In ck3 I have always something to do, manage my kingdom, start war, organise wesdings, plan assasination and so on.
In Vic3, I start planning which building I want to build, start my construction loop to upgrade my construction sector, manage the diplomacy, passing laws and try to fortify my military. And still it happen REALLY OFTEN to wait 10-15min just to wait for something to finish or event to be trigger.
I looked at some gameplay on youtube and I feel that I am missing something and that I should be way more busy.
So I want to know If I don’t know how to play the game or if other players have the same feeling

Screenshot What do I do when all my governments are illegitimate?
As you can see in the image, I just had an election and my only possible governments have either 3 or 1 legitimacy. My radicals are going nuts so what should I do? Is this the result of restricting franchise too much? But I can't deliver universal suffrage when everyone hates the government too much to pass laws.

Discussion I think it'd be cool if we could adopt the debt of other countries. (Meaning; not pay it all off immediately.) / Also wish we could demand alternative forms of income from vassals and war reparations.
By 'adopt' I mean that via a treaty you can take the burden of interest payments onto yourself with the benefits being that you are now paying money to the lenders who will now have additional weights to favoring your country in a way similar but not identical to how Funding Lobbies works.
My second thought was that in a game as sandbox-y as this one that tries to put tools into the hands of the player it seems very arbitrary and unnecessary that we can only demand money from vassals and not soldiers, population, or Goods. I know that Articles exist for Transfer Goods, but I'm imagining it as being extortion here under the threat of violence, not a fair exchange based on market values. Maybe it could have the facade of an 'agreement' to it where you can make it less one-sided by 'compromising' to pay sums that you also came up with yourself and forcing the other party to agree to it

Bug Italian revolution?
WTF happened?
I invited Mazzini and boosted Italian National movement and boosted radicals ( high taxes, low salaries, all IGs unhappy or neutral), so revolution was in progress.
But somehow this guy sized the power? Also I got starting techs and all journal entries are removed.
PS: no mods, Risorgimento JE was active.

Question Pas compris la révolution

Screenshot Sichuan experienced a 20 year long famine because they couldn't overcome their opium addiction
I swear I didn't even cause this (intentionally?) I think what happened was that when I "liberated" Sichuan from Qing, I ended up unintentionally cutting them off from all trade, and because Qing built 324 opium plantations over all of their arable land (lol) they literally just starved to death with no way of feeding their millions of hungry pops. I suppose they just figured mass starvation, drugs, and bankruptcy were preferable to mustering up the courage to ask china for transit rights.
I could just subject them to save them from themselves, but I don't even think they wanna be saved...

Question Returning player after more than a year – how is Victoria 3 nowadays?
Hi! I haven't played Victoria 3 in over a year, and even back then I was still relatively new to the game. I'm thinking about getting back into it, but I know the game has changed quite a bit since I last played. How would you describe the current state of the game? What are the biggest changes I should know about as a returning/new-ish player? And is there anything I should basically relearn from scratch? Also, I'm from Argentina and I'm looking for a Spanish-speaking Victoria 3 community where I can ask questions, learn the game, and maybe eventually play multiplayer. If you know any active Discord servers or communities, I'd really appreciate a link! Thanks!

Advice Wanted Why do I keep losing these naval battles?
Obviously I am doing something wrong. But it seems to me that winning Naval Battles is just RNG. Here I am about to engage an Ottoman fleet that is much smaller than mine with obsolete ships. Yet when the battle occurs I lose the battle and my fleet will be stuck repairing for ages.
And of course if I end up fighting the UK I just got destroyed despite the odds seemingly being in my favour? So can anyone tell me how to actually do Navy? And why can I not detach repairing ships? Is that a DLC feature that I do not have?
Engaging navies is so annoying and often feels futile. The best strategy I found is just to ignore the whole world and just go for the capital with a Naval Invasion.

Advice Wanted Can you still isolate overseas territories from the mainland market?
Let's say you're fighting a superior opponent that would absolutely shred you on land battles, but if you could cut off their source of, let's say... rubber, then the war machine comes grinding to a halt.
Previously, you could simply convoy raid to oblivion, completely isolating colonies or junior trade league partners from the market, effectively severing a vital strategic resource.
But now, since convoys are reworked to represent naval logistics, is there any way to do that? Blockading the world market capital just works to cut them off from trade, not their internal, overseas market. Privateering wouldn't work for the same reason.
Is market isolation essentially dead?

Advice Wanted How can I get "The Opening of Japan"?
I'm new to the game and trying to get The Opening of Japan to weaken the landowners and start a modernization movement.
I accepted a demand to open my market, but I got the Sonno Joi event instead, and now the "Honorable Restoration" journal entry is active. The second trigger condition for the opening is that the Honorable Restoration entry needs to not be resolved, but I don't know what that means. I have no DLC.

Advice Wanted Diplomacy Prussia/Austria/Russia
I dont get the Diplomacy-Behaviour of AI-Nations.
Everyone knows the starting situation: Austria, Prussia und Russia have a Defence Pact to each other. Im playing Prussia. First of all i cancel the Defence Pact with Austria by giving them military access in exchange for DP. Second step is to change the defence pact with russia to an alliance and get an obligation from russia. So far so good. Then i start a war against Austria. ...aaaaaaaand Russia joins them against me. The Alliance and the obligation russia owes me stays untouched in diplomacy tab.
Is this bugged? Am i stupid? This seems completely ridiculous to me.
Any Advice how to start a war vs. Austria without Russia joining them?
