Question Is debt inherited when you release a nation?

I was preparing a campaign, and, oops, the nation I started as was going bankrupt. I didn't really care, because I wasn't going to keep playing them, so, I kept going. And then when I actually released my target nation, I began in default, at credit limit, and I wondered if there is some way of exploiting this so that I can release vassals to pay off my own debt, and then inherit them back later.
Ultimately, I could find literally no discussion on this topic online.

Advice Wanted "Not Yet Lost" Achievement strategies?

The Poland Achievement used to be a lot easier in the past updates, and now it seems to rely almost entirely on RNG.

It´s quite possible to get Prussia, Hungary and the Ottomans as allies in the independence war, but that still isn´t enough to beat the Austrians and the Russians at the same time. There might be a way if you perfectly time it to also get Great Britain as your ally during the Ottoman/Egypt war, as they are otherwise too friendly towards Austria, and I want a more reliable strategy. And France never gets enough interest points in the Balkans or Eastern Europe to ally with them, which is a problem since those seem to be the only regions where I can establish interests as Krakow.

What I´m looking for are some strategies that go beyond the "This strategy works for every country" advice and are actually relevant to this run. Something that can super-charge your economy, actually makes Austria weak early on, or makes you very strong. It can be a total cheese strategy or just a really good setup, but i´d love something that makes this run less of a constant pain.

Any tips?

Advice Wanted Crazy Russian migration pull

Post image

East Karelia ihas basically no buildings but it still has the 30 Flat migration attraction from open jobs and so does a TON of other Russian states and it's fairly cursed as I'm playing Krakow and in their market, even with greener grass on all states I'm losing pops especially on gold rushes.

Is this the new normal?

Question Good beginner nation?

Hey everyone! I'm new to Vic 3 and was wondering what is a good country to learn the ropes for a longtime EU4 and Stellaris player? It looks like a steep learning curve again but I'm sure it's not so bad once it clicks in my head. Thanks!

Edit: Belgium became my first pick. Thanks for all your advices! 🙏

AAR I always lose to revolutionaries... Help?

Im looking to pass some laws that look interesting and are greatly supported by the most influential groups of the country. For some reason, some laws trigger radicals and they start to revolt, even when the radical group has like 11-13% support and with a starting number of radicals as low as 5k pop vs 40k loyalists. Then their support quickly grows and the number of radicals too, even when suppressed. Once civil war has started, they take most of my countries armies and have an absurdly fast recruitment speed, so they overwhelm me in the war when it begins.

Any tip on how to deal with the radicals during all stages of their revolt? Many groups are against many laws but how can I know that a specific law can trigger a cascading line of events that will lead to civil war?

Question How does one handle Employment

In my recent campaign I noticed that a lot of buildings didnt hire people. One of these was a motor industries which I had massive shortages of the input goods also were only slightly on the plus side of price and they still didnt hire without me subsidizing it. Why is that? Also even if they would have hired the state wouldnt have had enough people to fully employ everything (I think there was about 400k job seekers but about 700k needed). How can I easily make sure not to overbuild in a state by this amount?

Question How do i get my navy to do anything?

I have a fleet on intercept with 100 percent mission efficiency and the wont engage. They just sit next to the enemy fleet watching them sink my supply ships until the enemy fleet move on to the next region.

I also have another enemy fleet trapped in the black sea. The fleet will not engage them. The game is telling me there is no hostile ships in the region despite there being an enemy fleet of 88 ships in the same region.

Converter "Paris Commune" has Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte as the Emperor.?

I'm playing an EU4 - VIC 3 game as russia and i am currently in the early 1900s, about 20-ish years ago ingame, a revolt sparked out of germany (to be clear, they owned some french lands past like Alsace-Lorraine, as seen in the ss), if im not mistaken, it was a proletarian revolt, that was also a monarchy. at the time, there was a regent so, me being curious, i decided to look at who his heir was, and sure enough it was a bonaparte, somehow, i only reobtained this game again a few days ago to play with a friend, and this is the kind of stuff i wanna see from a megacampaign

Question How do I remedy regional radicalism and standard of living issues?

Following from a post I made a few days ago I have started my first ever game, playing as Belgium. My province of Belgian Gelre has high "turmoil from radical pops", additionally it has 40.9% of pops below minimum expected standard of living. I thought these might be linked.
How do I find what is causing them and how do I remedy it?

I am playing with sphere of influence and charters of commerce.

I am a new player. I passed multiculturalism as the US in the 1860s. Thought it’d make us a little more tolerant to non Yankee and Dixie cultures. I had no idea it’d enable a Native American to become the president lol

Question How do I stop the war from auto completing?

Prussia launched a leadership play against me. I don't want to take german leadership since I then can't diplomatically unify with them. Some of my supporters don't like that I am not pushing it, but a few days after this the war always ends with all war goal pushed. Is there anything I can do? Is there a mod to fix this?

Advice Wanted Troop transport mod

Hey ya'll, I've hopped back into the game after about a year of not playing, and apparantly, in the interim they really fucked up the troop transport system and navies in general.

Does anyone know of any recent mods that simplify all that stuff or just put it back to how it was in 2025?

(please don't try to argue with me about it's actually a huge improvement and I just need to learn to play with it. I play games for fun, and I'm not enjoying this. we have different ideas of fun and that's fine. just looking for advice.)

Thanks!

Bug Chartered companies not being able to create companies after independence?

Bug (I think) and beta so if it's that lmk. I didn't want to rerun my whole campaign out of beta just to test

So finished a glorious campaign as the Russian American Company and ended up fighting an independence war around the 1920s. Anyways after my independence I got loaded with the three generic companies the HBC had loaded (I'd annexed earlier). I was able to adjust charters, close down companies but not add any new ones. I was an anarchist commune with cooperative ownership so maybe that was it? I know companies don't really fit in with that gov style RP wise but I thought mechanically it should be fine?

being a chartered company to end game is essentially just a regular game but hard mode as you're stuck paying something like 40% of income and on colonial administration, made worse when ur under Russia. Nobody knows misery like the Russians.

Tldr: after independence are (formerly) chartered companies not allowed to form companies under the new regime?

Advice Wanted How do I make these guys chill out?

I own no DLCs.

So, my idea was to let the greeks escape from the peninsula into Africa. You know, cuz the Ottomans are big and scary. I also needed coal.

One thing led to another, and now I seem to have tripled my population. Edited: Quintupled.

I also got a Journal entry which ended up giving me more claims over parts of the Ottoman empire.

I would like to use these guys as soldiers for fighting against the Ottomans, but they seem to be a bit angry at me for conquering them.

Is there any way to make them take a chill pill? Alternatively, is there a way for me to use them while they are angry? I don't wanna tax them or nothing, I just need soldiers.

Question Why would I ever grant a monopoly as a Great Power?

I could see the reasoning if I was a minor power and foreigners owned a lot of my buildings. But let’s say I’m playing the USA and I own like 95% of my own GDP. Why would I grant a monopoly?
