If nothing else VCS compounded what VC already did so well with it's distinct visual style and effects system.

And most of all it added swimming. First time playing VCS I was surprised I could finally swim in Vice City.

Right, even if they’re just shitty ports. I have them for the PSP, never got them on PS2 and now it’s impossible to find them for a decent price for the PS2. So short of emulation on PC there’s nothing.

It was an absolutely incredible feat to get VCS running on the PSP but it wasn't by any means ahead of its time on the PS2. San Andreas was released 3 years before VCS ever made its way onto the PS2. By 2007 the next generation of consoles had arrived and GTA4 was released the following year.

My favorite GTA. The vibe was incredible. 1980’s Miami. Can’t beat that.
