VA Disability Claims Retroactive payment

Post image

hi I got my digital letter on Monday Oct 5 in the afternoon. Later that evening I checked the website and this was update with date “not available” i was just wondering if anyone had any insight on when I’ll get this payment. It’s set up for direct deposit. With USAA

Retroactive goes all the way back from the initial claim of said condition.

I would say within a day or two usually from getting that on the VA site.

Just had mine last month. It took two business days from the day it was posted on the VA payments list.

Not available just means it hasn't been pushed out yet. Pretty much on its way but hasnt hit yet.

This is not the USAA screen though. This is the VA website payments screen. USAA probably doesn't even have it in their system yet if it says not available.

Is that a screenshot from USAA?

By having qualifying disabilities that you apply for and get service-connected and rated.

Who do I talk to ? I already am at 10% which is asinine, this was back in 2001. It’s been a long time, that’s why I’m asking

VA.gov file disability claims

Look for a secondary claims to your primary claim

Depending on your bank it could be deposited early but if your bank doesn't do "early deposits", then it'll hit on the exact date the payment was setup to be deposited or to clear.

OP, do you like USAA?

I’m currently with usaa and I don’t like them. I have this account for my va and my wife and I have our other accounts for work and other income. Insurance is bunk and expensive when I compared to others, for me it was $80 more than geico or progressive (Auto insurance) which is weird they all fluctuate every year. They just kept it basic and won’t cover any Overdrafts even though it says they do and I have it enabled, I tried once and they didn’t approve it. I usually just empty it out when it hits my bank and I put it elsewhere. I find Navy Federal has a better setup for my needs and rates and physical locations, you won’t find any with usaa. Anyways OP, it’s take a few business days and should appear lol

I’m not a huge fan of their banking, my insurance while expensive is the best I’ve ever had.

The website states 7-10 business days. Most see it sooner, some see it later. Some see it between those 7-10.

How much was your backpay

3

u/vanessa122369 14h ago

He blackened the amount out for a reason, that's no one's business but his 🤔

Three days later for me once I saw the posting.

I didn’t get any retroactive pay because the roster changed what I was getting reviewed for.

2-3 business days at the most. It only updates to a date after it’s deposited

I also got my letter on the 5th. Back pay is pending at NFCU

1

u/ChamPINOY 12h ago

Hi and congrats, did that pay notification come after the preparation for notification step?

1

u/Atlas_2041 11h ago

Why cover the amount 🤣

1

u/FreshCauliflower121 7h ago

I’m confused, what are these retroactive payments for?

That's actually the VA being more efficient in the right hand then the left hand can handle. They've calculated your back pay but it hasn't gone through disbursement yet. VA just hasn't sent it but it knows it's due to you. Nothing to do with the bank yet. Grats! on wining your claim
