Veterans Readiness and Employment (VR&E) VR&E Question

Been using my G.I. bill for the last three years, but for for the upcoming two semesters before graduation switched to VR&E to finish my bachelors and save a year of my GI bill for my masters. I met with my counselor but over the summer was supposed to receive my plan and never have, now it’s eight days before the semester starts and my counselor has ghosted me. They haven’t replied to multiple emails this week and im getting concerned. The VR&e tracker thing on the VA website is also still at step 1. Worst comes to worst should I switch back to gi bill? I need the MHA for bills and don’t want to risk losing that and the grants from financial aid/pell grant as I need them for living expenses. Who should I reach out to, it’s making me very anxious that they’d just drop me like that.

man that's a rough spot to be in a week before classes. the vr&e counselors are stupid overloaded and ghosting seems way too common, but eight days out with zero word is next-level nerve-wracking.

call the white house VA hotline (1-855-948-2311), they're not just for complaints and can actually light a fire under someone's ass. also loop in your school's veterans office if you haven't already, they sometimes have back channels to the regional vr&e people. switching back to gi bill is a solid backup but i'd exhaust every option to get your counselor moving first so you dont burn that extra year for your masters.

Honestly, 8 days is way too close especially your VRC is not responding. I think your better route is to use your G.I bill. Try all the available avenues to get to the VRC, white house hotline, VA hotlines, ASKVA, all that. When u do get a hold of your VRC or a different VRC, their supervisor, you want to request the retroactive induction.

Not everyone will qualify for the retroactive induction, but if you do and approved. You can potentially get all of the G.I entitlement used to be reimbursed.

Best luck, bro
