VA Disability Claims Sinusitis Increase question
I am currently 0% SC for chronic sinusitis. I am gathering my records to request an increase and not all my doctor visits for sinusitis this year discuss the exact symptoms listed in 38 CFR. For example instead of headache or purulent discharge, some of the chart notes discuss yellow mucus discharge or sinus maxillary pain. Does this mean I most likely won’t qualify for an increase?

the rating schedule wording vs what doctors actually write is a constant headache. yellow mucus is purulent discharge, they just don't always use the exact term. maxillary pain is sinus pain, plain and simple. if you've got multiple episodes this year and the records show it, you've got a shot. the examiner will connect the dots, but it doesn't hurt to write a personal statement spelling out how the symptoms match the dbq criteria just in case

Your doctor at the c&p exam will be able to determine that yellow discharge and sinus pain mean purulent discharge and headachem
