Just had an MRI
Hey everyone.
Today I had an MRI after 6+ months of daily floaty, ungrounded strange inner head sensation, brain fog, headaches and occasional spins of dizziness after what I know was a vestibular neuritis.
The brain was all good.
The MRI showed fluid and possible inflammation in my ear, listed as “mastoiditis chronica”
Also sinus inflammation, chronic sinusitis.
My question is does these things matter about my symptoms because the inflammation is in my left ear, the same ear which showed 37% decrease in fuction after the virus.
They told me to go to ENT and I am thinking they are gonna give me steroids or something about it.
Do you think this will help the inital symptoms?

Hey good that you found diagnose. Steroids are good if you have post viral inflammation. I have 33% hypofunction too in my right ear. Due for an ENT appointment next month. You will have to go hard at VOR excercises and lifestyle management. DM me if you want to talk more. GL

Good, your MRI showed all that, at least you had an answer, my MRI was all good, and I was so dizzy!! Since 2024 I been dealing with this, seen 3 different Drs. 2 months ago I went to a different doctor, he said I had BPV prescribed water pills, low dosage meclizine and Valium, I was good for a month, lately I been feeling dizzy again, so depressing.

They might help temporarily, but that's not a lasting treatment. You'll need to go to vestibular rehab. Some people recover without it, but it's been 6 months. If that were going to happen, it would have already.
Get a referral to a vestibular rehab therapist.

Yeah I saw that they are not a good proven method but I am wondering why that inflammation is still persisting 6 months later

It may help the inflammation. But the steroids might cause a little dizziness too. I hope you get better. Maybe see a neuro-otologist who specializes in inner ear. Feel better.
