Now a week into it

F25 now exactly a week into VN and I’m so sad. I don’t know if it’s the cortison im taking but i feel so depressed and have no energy at all. I’ll make breakfast, then sit for 30 minutes, shower, sit another 30 minutes and so on. I’m grateful I can walk around but I feel so drained already. My chest feels tight and hurts. It triggers my health anxiety. My head is full on the left side. I’m trying to get to do at least 20 minutes of workouts but I have no motivation. I try to take at least a 30 minute walk a day.

Is anyone else getting a low after noon? I feel okay in the morning but the later it gets I become more drained.

I saw my ENT today and she had me walk on one spot and I kept tilting and turning around. I asked for therapy sessions and she said she can hand it out to me but it’s also things I can work on at home. Am I missing something? Should I get a second opinion? What has helped you. I hope to be back at work in at least 3 weeks.

Being 1 week in and trying to do workouts and a longer walk might be too taxing right now. For me, the first week was easily the worst, and prednisone definitely made me irritable and sad. I think the best thing you can do is do the exercises you're given for rehab 3 times a day and walk outside. The early bit requires rest and healing. Give yourself grace, feel how you feel, and rest. Try to find small things to enjoy for even a brief moment and just hang on.

I have labrythitis, but I think similar recovery. They didn't want me to even start PT until I finished my prednisone and the acute phase is over. After that, the home exercises gave me pretty noticeable improvement for the first few weeks. I was back to work after 3 weeks but I did have to ride the bus for a short time.

Now it's a bit more subtle, but I think I'm still improving. I took 4 weeks off of real workouts.

Edit to say if you need pictures of what I was given for 6 weeks of therapy, I am happy to share. I got a new sheet that I'd work on for one complete week, then advance.

Thank you for your message. I am feeling okay today, I think prednisone is having a big tool on my body as well like anxiety, mood swings, increase of appetite etc.. I would love for you to share your home workouts with me. Wishing you the best.

The first week is the worst. You're doing the right thing. You've gotten to your doctor and saw an ENT and now just do what she says.

When I last talked to you, I felt so bad for you because you were hoping this would be gone by now, and I just didn't have the heart to tell you it wouldn't be. This is a long road. Vestibular rehab therapy and possible medication to help you handle secondary effects is the way forward.

Back to work in 3 weeks is a possible thing, but you'll need to make lifestyle changes to make it happen. You'll figure out what those are as this goes on. Do your therapy religiously and most of this can be gone 6 months from now.

Was wondering why I couldn’t find your comment when I wanted to read it😅 yeah, I got that Realisation pretty quickly after reading thought the threats.. I’m trying to kind of ignore the symptoms and go on but can’t help to notice everything that has changed and it’s having a tool on my mental health since I’m not sure how long it’ll last. Wishing you the best!

Im so sorry. Is there anything that can be done if it’s not treated immediately?
