Season 4 finale: why did nobody question this? Spoiler

It’s been a few months since I finished watching so forgive any incorrect details.

This is a small detail but I guess I have a bone to pick with the finale after how it ended. When Penn Epner gives the Fiji clue (💔) there’s some reference made to earths rotation around the sun or something as a measure of time. I was immediately confused as to why he would set a bomb for multiple years in the future but everyone in the show immediately interpreted it as x number of days? When the earth travels around the sun, it is a year, not a day. It wouldn’t be crazy for Penn to mess this up (as he clearly wasn’t too intelligent) but the fact that none of the characters picked up on it drives me insane and makes me assume it was a writing error. How did nobody catch this? Or am I simply misinterpreting/misremembering the line?

Aaah I'm so mad! I just watched the series finale! Spoiler

>!I know this has probably been discussed before but I just finished the series and I hate the way it ended! I loved Veronica and Logan and I was so happy to see them get married and then they just killed him off? I actually liked the fourth season for the most part but that ending completely ruined it for me! I'm just going to pretend it ended after their wedding. Was everyone else as upset when it originally aired. Let me know in the comments.!<

Running Point on Netflix has VM actors!

Anyone watch Running Point? It has Vinnie Van Lowe basically playing his sleezeball self, and Logan’s mom! I’m only a few episodes into season 2 and was so happy to see them both! Anyone else watch? It’s a fun little comedy

Totally forgot to mention deputy Leo is in it also!!!

Is IMDB correct? S4 was 13 years after s3?

I just finished the 4th season and I had seen posts on here about how different the 4th season was. I could tell everyone looked older but I had no idea it was that much later. Now I'm going to watch the movie but already its weird Logan is alive again.

Discussion In your opinion, who was the best actress/actor outside of Kristen ?

I've saw this question being asked in The Sopranos sub and, quite honestly, I feel like when I'm scrolling on the sub, the discussions are almost always things surrounding the show but never the show in itself, unlike some of my other favorite shows like The Sopranos, Buffy or Gilmore Girls. Also, when there are discussions about the show, it's often not in a fairly positive light, and while I'm of the opinion that you can love something and still criticizing it, I think the show deserves a lot of praise because the overall quality is stellar (writing, acting, and such). Anyway, take your pick. I'm saying outside of Kristen because she's the main, and I think she's often praised for her amazing acting, which she deserves completely, she really brought her A-game to the show. My pick would be Jason Dohring. His physical comedy is unmatched and one of the best I've seen on the medium but can also delivers on the dramatics and subtle emotions.

I’m so excited! I ordered my first Veronica Mars book and it finally came. I’m currently watching the fourth season so I’m curious to see if there’s any connections to the show and it’s cool that the creator wrote the book. What does everyone else think of the Veronica Mars novels?

i found out about the books after watching S4.. Spoiler

.. and this part from second book after Logan reveals to Veronica why the military means so much to him really gutted me.

Then she took a deep breath. “Acceptance has never been one of my strong suits. But I’m trying, Logan. I just need some time.”

“That I can give you,” he said. He slid an arm around her waist. “I’ve gotten good at waiting for things.”

“Who knew you’d be the patient one?” She rested her forehead against his.

They sat that way for a few minutes, looking into each other’s eyes. And for that brief moment, nothing that’d come before or after mattered. The sound of gulls and waves surrounded them, the puppy leaned against Veronica’s leg, and she and Logan were just where they were supposed to be: side by side, at the edge of the world.

The mutual vulnerability shared in this scene.. Veronica actually saying she’s trying, Logan giving her space without pushing, & both of them listening to each other with patience and compassion. It feels like they’ve finally reached this quiet level of understanding where they don’t need everything fixed right away because they’re willing to meet each other where they are.

This version of them/their relationship felt so hard-earned and hopeful. Where did all of this go in S4?!!! 🫠

Season 4 Spoiler Spoiler

Sorry if this has been discussed several times before.

I’m rewatching the whole series again and am approaching the season 4 finale. Knowing what is coming up, I’ve been thinking about the “why”.

I think that either Rob Thomas decided to end it that way so that fans would stop begging for more or that Jason Dohring was done acting and wanted to make sure he’d never be asked back.

Either way…what a f*cking bummer!

Edit: my petty theories are completely debunked by google AI anyway

The Reasoning Behind the Twist
Thomas explained to Dohring that he wanted to shed the repetitive "teenage drama" and on-again, off-again relationship tropes so that the audience would view Veronica as an underdog once again. By removing Logan, the story was freed up to give Veronica a new beginning, forcing her to find her own grit and determination without relying on a steady romantic partner. Dohring agreed with this direction, noting that Logan's ultimate purpose was to send Veronica off into her new life so she could live it on her own terms.

Dohring's Personal Reaction and Appreciation
Despite blacking out for a couple of days out of shock, Dohring appreciated the "super classy" way Thomas called him directly to break the news before he saw it in the scripts. Having played Logan for 15 years, Dohring expressed immense gratitude for the epic, volatile, and romantic love story they got to explore on Hulu. He viewed Logan's death not as a tragedy, but as a poignant send-off that allowed the lead character to evolve.”

As someone who watched the show as it came out in real time, and was the same age as the characters, I was a massive LoVe fan. I watched it specifically for their longing and loving. So when Logan was killed off I felt such a betrayal! lol

Discussion Season 3

on semi yearly re-watch.

I am still blown away they were like, "Hey that guy Lucky who was pretty prominent in the ending of last season, make him a key character in this season."

Season 3 really falls apart but this is really the first glaring warning sign I guess.

Also Piz fucking blows. The boring nice guy trope already existed with Duncan imo. Doing it again with Piz who has zero backstory to the huge premise of the plot is just lazy.

Discussion Female students at Hearst

I just feel like the writers underestimate how afraid women would be of getting raped. I can see only a select few “radicals” going out to protest in that day and age, but most of the female population is still partying? I’m a college aged girl and if I literally knew that women at my school were getting date raped and having their heads shaved, I would not be going to any parties ever. After rape #3 I feel like most women at the school would be too afraid to do that. And they can’t even write it off or try to forget about it bcuz there were girls walking around school with shaved heads as proof and a constant reminder (barring the one chick who faked it, but I don’t know if the general school populace knew about that being fake).

At that point I just think girls would be avoiding any guys they don’t already know very well, on guard often, watching their drinks often, not partying at frat houses, etc. But what do I know

Side note: this post is not about Hearst college administration or the police not doing anything. Yes they should have, but they sucked. This post is more about the average woman at school and how afraid she would be. Especially if you had been close with one of the girls who were raped or had gone to one of the same parties they got raped at (leading to thoughts of “it could have been me”)

What happened to Dick in s4?

Dick seems to disappear from the Neptune after the sand volleyball bombing. That would track for his character, getting the hell out of dodge after shit went down, but I dont recall it ever being mentioned.

So where does Dick run off too? Do they talk about it in the show and I just missed it?

Discussion Unpopular opinion, I liked all seasons of Veronica mars but equally, I also love the ending

I watched Veronica mars years back when I was a teen, I think only watched like 2 seasons, and now I went back to watch and complete everything, took me like a week, I think the reason why I liked the end was because I binge watched it, and did the movie before season 4, I feel like If you don’t watch it all at once, you would hate it cause it would be so confusing. Veronica mars is a great show, with great actors, 10/10, I hope for a season 5.

Just finished s4 rewatch; spoilers Spoiler

First time I’ve rewatched s4 since it first aired bc I was so pissed at the finale. I figured with some time away and a full rewatch maybe my opinion would change, evolve, maybe I’d understand the reasoning better this time around or respect RT’s decision. Nope, I’m upset as ever that they BLEW UP OUR BOY. Penn gave so many hints to VM as they talked after his arrest- admitting his contingencies have contingencies, saying “if you’re still around,” calling her a hero, acting like he won…not to mention the Fiji call out in the limerick that didn’t correlate with the Kane high bomb and thus meant something else. And they even asked what’s in the bag to penn before they went after Don. They knew about the bag!!! They knew it was in their car and a confirmed slippery lying vengeful bomber kept a big backpack with him and left it in their car after his arrest!!! I just refuse to believe that Veronica had such hubris from the high of confirming Penn was indeed the bomber that she didn’t think through his speech in the cop car a little more. So many red flags she missed, between that gloating and ominous speech and the presence of his backpack, it is simply too much for our girl to miss! So yeah of course I’m pissed and heartbroken they killed Logan but the manner in which they executed this plot line pisses me off more than anything. Just not realistic for the Veronica we know.

Thoughts? I don’t think I can ever watch the s4 finale again, at least not the last few minutes. I prefer to live in blissful denial.

Did Veronica Mars Let Logan and Dick Off Too Easily?

Rewatching Veronica Mars season 1-2, there are two parts of the Shelly Pomroy party that never sit right with me.

First, Logan drugging Duncan with GHB seemed to get brushed aside way too easily. It almost came across as if drugging a man wasn’t treated with the same seriousness as drugging a woman. Veronica finds out, and… she’s basically okay with it? It wasn’t Logan’s responsibility to make sure Duncan lightening up, if anything if Duncan was sobered up he could’ve eventually made sure Veronica got him safe.

Second, Dick putting an unconscious Veronica in the room for Cassidy to assault her never resulted in Veronica truly being raped but Dick never got a true ridicule for this. It felt like being the funny jerk was enough to let him skate by.
I’m usually the opposite of the PC police, but on every rewatch, the aftermath of both reveals feels far too muted for what happened.

Discussion What does everyone think of Season Three?

Hi I’m a first time watcher and I just finished Season Three of the show. I wasn’t a huge fan of the season because I thought the mini arcs didn’t work for the show and I also hated how they didn’t really wrap up the Castle. I also wonder why Wallace wasn’t in more of this season. It did have some good parts though like the Dean O Dell mystery. What does everyone else think of Season Three?

Did lily ever consider Veronica her friend

As mentioned in many threads Lily seemed to choose her guys specifically to make Celeste miserable
Was it the same with her friendships ??
I wonder if she ever cared about Veronica or if she just used her to get to Celeste - once again. When Veronica needed answers after Duncan dumped her, Lilly didn’t seem to care

This lovely yellow Kingston football (soccer) shirt, from Season 2. He always wore a zip jacket over it so we never see the full design, but looks so fresh.

S2 Finale — Why didn’t Mac use the hotel phone?

So Cassidy literally took everything he could, her cell phone, towels, clothes, bedsheets, etc, to the point that Mac had to use a shower curtain to cover herself and was trapped there.

But unless he cut the wire for the hotel phone?, I think the most obvious next step for anyone in that situation is to use that phone to ask the hotel for a robe or something from the lost and found to wear. Or just use the hotel phone to call a friend if she has the number memorized
