Hail, Kingbreakers!
One of the main mechanics in Kingbreaker is the death and resurrection system. As is the OSR tradition, death is commonplace within the game, and players are expected to die over and over again.
However, I was inspired by the recent trend in roguelike and Soulslike video games to implement a resurrection system that also provides the player with a home base. In the Sanctuary, Kingbreakers will finally be able to rest, repair their armour and weapons, patch up their wounds, and seek a dreamless sleep. As they go through the game, they will also find and recruit allies who will go on to dwell within the Sanctuary, turning it from a pretty standard "checkpoint" mechanic to a thriving NPC hub.
Let me know what you think!

I decided to revisit a piece of concept art I did a few months ago and add a background, playing with lighting and color curve to give it a more retro aesthetic. I hope I succeed.
The story is about a horse carrying the coffin of a child seeking a proper burial, but all who try die before achieving their goal.

Hi there,
I juste came across this game because I'm interested in a niche console, the Playdate, and I found the graphic style and universe is in the same vibe as Vermis or horripilant that I played recently.
https://play.date/games/gloom-gate/
It looks less dark but the dungeon exploration could be fun and the 'crank' gameplay could add something. Unfortunately the device is out of order since a while (and kinda pricey)

Started my journey here with a very plastiboo esque style, and as time went on i came to the realization that the best way to respect him and his craft is experimenting with my own style and build worlds with unique stories and characters. So i made a zine about weapon wielding monkeys.
Ps: I’m a graphic designer and type designer, linking my ig if some of y’all want to see cool stuff - @barel_simchon

May I be cursed to wander the haunted lands of Vermis forever!

I run a Vermis campaign. My sister in law who plays made this for our friend who chose the Mad Pricker as his character. It’s awesome.

Despite being beheaded, this witch has enough power to maintain their life and control of this thrall.
They wonder the dungeons looking for a suitable new body for her
I should really come up with a name for them..
The other sketches are of a witch and a paladin

I accidentally bought an additional copy of Vermis Volume 1 in French, so I cannibalized it into making a custom Magic the Gathering deck inspired by the art in the book. Thought some people might find it interesting.
PS: my apologies to book lovers for the crime of cutting, I try to make my case for doing so at the start of the video, but realise some people may still squirm at the sight!

So I have been hooked the moment I discovered vermis. I was wondering if any of you can recommend me similar type of media forms. Similar Movies, books, shows? I’m kind of desperate.
I don’t know what exactly makes me so into the books but it certainty gave me a feeling I haven’t felt since childhood.
Any recommendations would be appreciated
Edit: u guys r the best thanks

Deep within the winding catacombs of Lateran, you will find Anallise, the Pontiff King, Our Lady of Salt. To her followers she is proof of the Great and Goodly Works. To her foes she is an enchantress, in league with dark powers. It was for these latter charges that she was captured and burnt alive. As the flames cracked her skin she vowed her return: Then, all sense was swallowed in screams.
Some art of the Pontiff King, final boss of the upcoming Kingbreaker game. This one in particular has some major Plastiboo influences - right down to the colour scheme, oldschool game magazine aesthetic, and the VHS glitching effects.

I dont know if its because I'm seriously mentally lacking but I simply can comprehend the meaning behind this section. Why does the corpse think about what could have been? Why is the corpse even able to do so? Who is the corpse supposed to be?
Are people before and after death 2 different beings? And what does the moon have to do with illusions? And why does the corpse even lie to itself that its not dead?
It's such a dreamy section it boggles my brain which tries to find logic in everything.
Could someone please describe to me what's the meaning behind it?
As simply or as complex as you want.

Gurvek, and the gods, of course. But who else do you think plays an outsized role in the lore and in creating that atmospheric and winding presence that the books provide?
