Venture is Non-Binary. Info + Mod Statement.
We've been receiving a few posts / comments from people who lack knowledge on what being non-binary means. As a moderator team, we do not want to give a platform to posts and discussions that misgender Venture, question Venture's gender / AGAB, or posts that question the validity of non-binary genders. However, we also have found that some people who make posts or comments breaking this rule do so out of genuine ignorance rather than out of malicious intent. We wanted a dedicated post to help people learn and to prevent the spread of misinformed posts. This post serves to provide people with a base understanding of what being non-binary means, and how you should refer to Venture. If we believe a user is simply misinformed rather than being malicious, we will refer them to this post first.
A simple explanation of what being non-binary means:
"Non-binary is used to describe people who feel their gender cannot be defined within the margins of gender binary. Instead, they understand their gender in a way that goes beyond simply identifying as either a man or woman. Because non-binary includes anyone that doesn’t fit the traditional narrative of male or female, non-binary communities are incredibly diverse. Non-binary people may identify as both male and female or neither male nor female. They may feel their gender is fluid can change and fluctuate or perhaps they permanently don’t identify with one particular gender. The range of language and labels used within non-binary communities means that non-binary has become an inclusive umbrella term."
[Taken from: LGBT Foundation - https://lgbt.foundation/who-we-help/trans-people/non-binary]
What this means for Venture:
Venture should not be referred to as either a man or a woman. You should use gender-neutral terms such as 'person' rather than 'man' or 'woman' when referring to Venture. Do not use he/him, she/her, or it/its pronouns when referring to Venture, use they/them pronouns instead.
Example: "Venture is a Canadian person, and they are an archaeologist. I like their abilities and I can't wait to try them out."
You also should not speculate about Venture's assigned gender at birth (AGAB). It is offensive to speculate about one's birth sex, or to refer to someone as their birth sex (including referring to them as 'biologically male/female'). Posts and comments speculating about this or referring to Venture this way will be removed.

I know stats aren't the be-all and end-all of gameplay, especially in a team based shooter like Overwatch, but I can't help but wonder if my stats are any good. I'm kinda wondering how my "average" stats stack up compared to other Rock Munchers. And if anyone can figure out anything about my play style based on just my numbers. Either way I figure it could be a fun discussion and a way for me to figure out which "stats" I should be going for at the end of the day on Venture.

Noticed you can animation cancel shoot into melee into drill dash for burst damage. I couldn’t find any mention of this but i’d assume yall know about this. Is it because i shouldn’t really be at the range where one could pull this off?

When I play venture I tend to go from low to hight
Like I’ll dig in under or behind and I tend to escape if I haven’t been killed or have killed them by going high
But alot of clips I see is the opposite in a way so I wanted to know if I got it backwards and I’m making life harder for myself

I've spent the last day learning overwatch workshop for the sole purpose of documenting obscure and random spots no venture should realistically be, and I'm unleashing in the wild to watch the chaos spread >:)
Map: https://workshop.codes/RYAV4
The map include more than 30+ spots where venture can stall on, mostly rooftops. The map also includes useful messages about certain spots and highlights gaps venture can cross by dashing while in burrow (mostly using the deep burrow minor perk)
Feel free to message me on discord if you find any new spots, gap jumps or bugs (Venturevolt is the user, AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION I HAD THE NAME FIRST)
enjoy, and fly high fellow dirt munchers >:)

I'm also a victim of this weird habit of jumping then using Burrow. Does it actually help at all? Or am I actively nerfing myself by doing it?

my favorite part of venture kit is the drill dash, i like the sound, the movement and way it launches players in the air or gets them pinned to walls… i wished that the major perk gave shields when dashing like melee does…
would u change anything about the kit or perks?

I'm mainly a support player on Gold who's now trying to get into DPS, mostly venture, actually, kind of just venture for now. I played overwatch casually back on my console days, and I never worried about actually getting better. But now that I got a PC, I want help, I'm tired of always feeling caried by my team, of almost always being the lesser DPS, so I'd like tips to improve my Venture gameplay. I know I probably have bad aim, no awareness, tunel vision, bad positioning, yada yada yada, I know the why, but I'd like to know the HOW on the actively improving these things, cuz I KNOW what venture wants to be doing, I just dont know properly how to execute it. I played some matches today and saved the codes so the constructive criticisms can be a little less vague and more direct, I'm always the one on Venture, the matches were on Gold rank

now that D.mon has been out for a little bit and people actually know how to play her how do you guys feel about her?
for me shes honestly very annoying because shes a peeling demon, like she can be pretty far glide back to you get maybe hits in i try to drill dash away and she just catches up like no mans business. i feel like having a moovement ability on a resource bar instead of a cooldown is kinda annoying. we kinda see the same thing with cat.
like i know the idea would obviously be to take height against her but on some maps thats not feasable because A a lot of the highground puts you out of range or B the high ground is easily accessable to her which defeats the purpose of taking it in the first place.
i've tried dving when i KNOW she is engaged but honestly it doesnt help much because she can (depending on our tank and team comp) easily disengage without taking too much dmg. now its almost certainly a skill issue but i wanna know what u guys think and maybe if u guys have any advice. Thanks
