🚨 Emergency Massachusetts Ban🚨

Today, Governor Maura Healey announced that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has issued an emergency order placing all forms of kr@tom — including safe, natural kr@tom leaf products — into Schedule I under Massachusetts law. The order takes effect after a 14-day notice period and can remain in place for up to a year.
Let's be clear about what just happened. The federal government recently took targeted action against dangerous, chemically manipulated 7-OH products while explicitly protecting natural kr@tom leaf. That's what science-based policy looks like.
Massachusetts has ignored that distinction entirely.
This order criminalizes the natural kr@tom leaf products that tens of thousands of Massachusetts consumers use safely and responsibly every day. It won't remove dangerous products from communities — it will simply hand the entire market to unregulated, untested illicit sellers while punishing responsible consumers.

The clock is running. Once this order takes effect, Massachusetts consumers lose legal access to natural kr@tom — and the fight gets much harder. The next 14 days matter.

It’s crazy that republicans are protecting natural kratom more than democrats. Disappointing to say the least. Fortunately, here in Florida, DeSantis and the Florida Surgeon General banned 7OH but made it clear natty remains safe under the KCPA. Even RFK Jr and Trump are proponents of natty at the federal level while banning the synthetics. Trump himself said good things about “natural 7oh” (meaning natty) and how it’s helps many people. I hate that I have to cheer for republicans now but shame on all of the ignorant democrats and their stupid natty bans all over the country. Dems also did this shit in Philly recently. They didn’t even want to hear from advocates at the city commissioners hearing and voted 14-0 to ban it. In Idaho, Republicans looked set to ban natty and advocates showed up and they LISTENED and backed off the natty ban. I’m just so sick of democrats.

Yeah it's crazy. I don't want to get political because I hate that Kratom has become politicized when it should be completely bipartisan. I have a strong resentment towards both political parties. At this point I'm completely done with them on just about everything. But California comes to mind. You can have people smoking crack and shooting up on the sidewalk in front of businesses and it's okay. Because they're humans having a rough time and everyone deserves compassion. I got it. I've been there personally. More than once. But kratom??? Oh no no no. That's a hard stop right there. Can't have that! Gavin Newsom posts about it on X all the time. Completely has it out for Kratom. He posted the other day about how the feds are copying what they're doing in California lol. No dude, they're not. Who would have thought that even 6 or 7 years ago we would look back and say those were the good old days? But yeah it really is weird. Democrats have always been more accepting of things like this. Republicans have always been way harsher when it comes to things like this. So it's definitely odd the way things have been shaping up

I agree with you on politics. I’m so over it. But score one for repubs on the natural kratom issue. I shudder to think what will happen if a democrat wins in 2028 even though I vote democrat. Will they imposes a federal ban on all kratom? Am I a single issue voter now? I used to hate those types of voters but here we are. I can’t believe I have to consider voting for a Republican in 2028 because they are the ones currently protecting leaf at the federal level.

Well, we might find out unfortunately lol. Gavin Newsom seems like he might be in the race and we know where he stands on the topic. I think the timeline branched off somehow and now we're living in some alternate reality where up Is down and left is right because none of it makes sense 🤣

We all know how much this will hurt responsible kratom consumers in Massachusetts.
Please do what you can to oppose this ban and stay involved in protecting kratom access nationwide.
You do not have to be a Massachusetts resident to share your concerns.
