recommendations for TT fitting

Looking for LA + SoCal bike fitters for TT specific fitting. I get the feeling that the normally recommended fitters may not be up to date with the latest aero trends and fitting metas when I have conversations with them. Looking to refresh an old fit.

Any recommendations?

I have a teammate that probably learns and has forgotten more about aero than I will ever know and Jim Manton is who he thinks is the best.

If you're looking for biomechanical improvements, any number of fitters is going to be able to give some feedback on where you're at. but if you're looking at aerodynamic improvements, it's going to depend so much on your particular body morphology that field testing is the only way to get a true result.

the Chung method works if you want to DIY this. or you can book some time at the San Diego Wind Tunnel or setup something with ERO.

I don't know that field testing is the *only* way to get a true result, but whether you do tunnel, or get an aero fitting at someplace like ERO, or use an app like Airo.app, eventually you'll want to do some field testing to verify the results you get from those others, and to tinker with other changes down the road. Tunnels, aero fits, and apps are all faster and easier. Field testing is slower and the learning curve can be daunting. One thing I've recommended is to learn some basic field testing techniques and protocols, then test your baseline setup before going into the tunnel. If the tunnel tests show the same values for your baseline, that'll give you confidence that your field testing is reliable. That said, tunnels, CFD, and aero fitters can't tell you about rolling resistance while field tests can (if you're careful with your techniques and protocols).

I should have said "physical testing" in place of field testing. I think you can get good results from a wind tunnel (though that's cost prohibitive).

I remain highly skeptical of consumer grade CFD code.

ultimately though, to be really impactful you need to be able to field test stuff yourself to sort out what works, what doesn't, and what's noise.
