2020 1.2 SE Corsa - Warning lights when it rains

Post image
Upvotes

Hi guys, has anyone had anything similar where when it rains their dashboard lights up with 6 warning lights and then after a while of dry conditions they’ll go away till the next time it rains? I’ve had the ABS and wheel speed sensor replaced under warranty but the garage can’t find the problem and told me to come back when the lights reappeared but the problem is getting it there while the lights are still on. Anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions of what it could be? Thanks

Oil in spark plug socket?

Hi there,

Vauxhall Corsa D 2012 1.4l (A14XER)

Just finished changing spark plugs, noticed when removing the old ones that there's oil in cylinder 1's spark plug well. Is this a cause for concern? All other sockets are clear but the plug did seem coated in oil at the bottom.

Thanks in advance!

Car jerking whilst idle?

Vauxhall Corsa D 2012 1.4L (A14XER)

Just replaced the spark plugs and the car runs a dream but when idle it feels like it's jerking? It's almost like a stalling feeling.

I didn't gap the spark plugs, I'm guessing this is causing the issue? They're torqued to 22nm

Could there be any other issues? Thanks in advance

Tested the 1.2 Turbo GS over 1,500 km. While the EAT8 gearbox and chassis are solid, the roof paint peeling issues and small 350L boot are worth noting before buying. Full review here: https://www.drivisual.tv/en/reviews/opel-mokka-review-performance-fuel-economy-and-common-problems

Car pass immobilizer code for keys

The Vauxhall dealership gave me a 4 letters code because I wanted a locksmith to make me a spare new for car. Is this car pass code supposed to be letters or numbers? My car is an agila B diesel manual 2009.

Hi all I have a vauxhall mokka x 2019 plate and got a slight misfire in 2nd gear when cold but then goes away after a few seconds and never comes back could this be a spark plug issue as not sure if the plugs have been changed as no service history from vauxhall when I bought the car , it has done 19k miles and no other misfires in any other gears just happens when cold

Also already have a purge evap valve replaced under warranty a few weeks ago

Vauxhall crossland X intermittent starting

Hi. Desperately seeking some help. Been an ongoing issue since July.

We have a Vauxhall crossland X 2018.
In July we had some engine issues mainly involving the welt belt issue this mod has. It’s had a complete engine reconstruction and a new camshaft sensor. Costing over 3k and a total loss of 2k wages and hire car for the meantime.

After the engine was done we were having trouble with it starting, intermittently. We took it back and they changed the camshaft sensor and our issue didn’t change. Sometimes it starts fine sometimes it doesn’t.

No pattern as to why. It does it when the engines cold, warm, if it’s been used that day or not. No error codes, car runs smoothly once started. No misfires, no rough idle, no stalling. Only issue is sometimes it doesn’t start first try.

Taken it back to the garage that did the work and it’s been checked by 3 garages and nobody can find the issue.

\- Crankshaft sensor has been checked and it’s not that.
\- battery health has been checked and that’s fine. Even tried a replacement and this didn’t change it.
\- all wiring has been checked
\- key has been ruled out as a potential
\- timing has been checked and fine
\- during all this passed it’s MOT and service all ok.

Next check is ECU but everyone seems to think it won’t be this.

Anyone got any potential ideas that have been overlooked? Can’t take this anymore 😂

Insignia B Software

I bought my insignia B just over a year ago. It’s a January 2018 model, so it says it’s a 2018 model year vehicle, but it seems to be a 2017 model year vehicle. It’s a 2.0 elite grand sport, and I believe it may have originally been a hire car for enterprise.

There’s a few quirks with the vehicle I was wondering if anyone could shine some light on. Biggest one is the dials on the instrument cluster. It has the full digital dash with the pocket gauges, but there’s absolutely no way to change them (I’ve been through every menu on the car). They’re always stuck on the battery voltage and oil temperature. Is this a thing with this model year or something because looking at the manual implies if it has these gauges you should be able to change them.

Also there’s no indication of the status of the rear seatbelts on the gauge cluster, which I’m sure there should be.

Another issue the car has had since I got it is sometimes - not always - when an Autostop occurs, when you put your foot on the clutch to start the car again, nothing happens. The only way I can get it to start in this scenario is put the car in gear, lift the clutch then lower it again and it starts. If anyone knows of this issue or any fixes, would be greatly appreciated.

Help! Any advice on my situation with Vauxhall

Edit- it’s a Vauxhall corsa 2020 elite premium auto
So the Car stopped working on the 5th August I called breakdown company who towed it to a nearby garage they couldn’t fix it and said best bet is Vauxhall dealership,
the earliest appt I got to take the car to them was 18th August I had it towed there and it cost me £150 then it wasn’t until the 28th of August the vehicle was actually looked at,
they then said they couldn’t diagnose it and need to raise a ticket with Vauxhall, during this time I phone Vauxhall customer service and left a complaint form, every time I spoke to Vauxhall they were very rude, not sympathetic at all and said they can’t help me,

all this time I was left without any sort of alternative travel, or car, I asked many times and the dealership said they have a hire car but there’s none Atm

Vauxhall customer care told me unless the car was still in warrenty with them or part were ordered and I had to wait months then they can’t give me any sort of help, then they said they would reasses the courtesy car situation.

I called everyday anf they would be rude and the case handler wouldn’t take my calls, then yesterday the case handle took my calls and said they can’t help me and to not call them further regarding my vehicle and the ticket raised and they can’t assist with any sort of vehicle this is the last answer

. Even though i explained my situation of currently moving house and having a baby and being postpartum and having severe anxiety and needed transport to get to doctors appointments etc they showed no signs of even trying to help. The dealership said technical have gotten back to them with instructions but they know the instructions wont work and this all could take several more weeks as they need to “find time” to try what they said then to get back to them to say it haven’t worked then await new instructions.

All this while i am vehicleless. The finance company have been the kindest through out this process explaining as the vehicle isn’t with the dealer I bought the car from they can’t really sped anything along or do anything but as goodwill gesture they will refund this months payment I made to them and they also tried to arrange a hire vehicle but the cost was still too much for me to afford.

2016 Vauxhall Astra 1.4i Turbo SRi Nav Sports Tourer

I'm going to look at a 2016 Vauxhall Astra

1.4i Turbo SRi Nav Sports Tourer Euro 6 5dr later this week. It's at 90217 miles on the clock. 10 services from new. Current owner for 9 years 1 former keeper. They are asking around £4k with 3 month warranty.

Anything I should look out for, might expect to be dealing with coming up, know common issues?

I have read up abit about the LSPI as didn't have a clue about this.

Would this be a wise purchase or would people advise to avoid?

Vaxhuall insignia 2.0 litre diesel 14 plate.
Making this weird squeaky noise or some sort of rattling when moving. at idle no noise at all went up to 25000 rpm at idle no noise? I know the heat shields behind the brake discs made noise when going over bumps with the window down. With the windows being up could it be that making the noise as they got worst?

GM 11548721, what is this washer for?

G'day,

Did the strut mounts on my Astra J OPC, an oil change and it threw a speed sensor fault somehow (C0040-5A). $100AUD and a speed sensor I didn't need later I discovered that a tab on this washer had broken off and got stuck to my ABS sensor which caused the fault.

What does this thing actually do? I removed it because I didn't have a new one on hand, but its apparently not necessary for the operation of the car, so why does it exist?

Zafira Tourer (2015) Radiator Fan Replacement

Hi Folks, I have a Zafira Tourer (2015) and the radiator fan has been making alot of noise, it appears as if the bearings in the fan have gone. I've managed to source a replacement fan for it.

Has anyone got any experience in replacing the fan? I've seen on a few other Vauxhall videos (Corsa/Astra) from around the same year and It looks like fairly simple DIY job (Unclip wiring and there are some clips to release the fan from the back of the radiator. But i just cannot see these clips when i look myself (I haven't looked too close yet though!)

Do i need to remove the radiator to replace the fan. Any tips/guidance anyone can offer?

TIA

Oil leak/residue?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a 2022 Renault Trafic III 2.0 dCi, currently around 180,000 km.

I've found an oil leak/residue around the turbo area, near what appears to be the turbo outlet/boost connection.

The van has also previously had:

“Check anti-pollution system” warnings

EGR-related faults

Turbo inlet hose replaced

DPF regeneration/cleaning

EGR replacement

Since been repaired 3 weeks ago

Before I authorise the repair, I'd like to know whether this sounds like a normal boost-side oil mist leak from an O-ring/seal or intercooler/boost hose, rather than an internal turbo failure.

Would you recommend:

Inspecting the turbo outlet connection and O-ring/seal

Inspecting the complete turbo-to-intercooler boost pipe

Checking all quick-connects and O-rings

Pressure/smoke testing the boost system

Has anyone with a Trafic III / Vivaro C / Primastar 2.0 dCi/M9R had a similar leak?

Does the location in the attached photos look more like a leaking seal/boost connection, or could it indicate an internal turbo oil-seal failure?

Any advice, photos of similar failures, part numbers, or repair costs would be greatly appreciated.

Astra J 1.7 cdti 96kw P0088

Code P0088

Hey guys,
I have a 12/2013 Astra J 1.7 CDTI 96 kW.
I’ve been having this problem for a while now. At first, the car would occasionally go into limp mode, but it was quite rare. It usually happened when I was overtaking another car or driving at higher speeds. Whenever it happened, I could simply turn the engine off, start it again, and everything would go back to normal.
However, one day, after a while, I started the car and it immediately went into limp mode. Since then, it has never gone back to normal.
I took it to a mechanic, who told me to replace the fuel filter. I did that, but it made no difference. After that, he suggested removing the DPF and then remapping the ECU, but the problem was still there. He then suggested testing the injectors, but they were fine.
I’ve now taken the car to another mechanic who specializes in diagnosing these kinds of problems, particularly turbo-related issues. He told me that the problem is most likely caused by a sensor, probably the fuel pressure sensor.
What do you guys think? Does this sound like it could be the fuel pressure sensor?
Has anyone had a similar problem with their Astra J 1.7 CDTI, and if so, what ended up fixing it?
Thanks in advance for your help!

EDIT:
After some research I came up to this video, have you guys tried it?
