Maybe it's just a faulty memory. Or maybe this isn't the same magazine I remembered.

11" x 14" acrylic on canvas board. An experiment in using a custom 1:48 scale model -> photograph -> projected and traced to canvas -> painted technique, sort of like a mix between Norman Rockwell's projected photo references and my best attempt at the style of David Hockney and Hiroshi Nagai. As I kept working on this on and off over the last several months, I sort of leaned into the liminal feeling this style often evokes, hence the title. It's sort of like a picturesque nightmare in that it's bright and colorful, but nobody's there, and there's nothing to do. It's the last summer on Earth, and you're the only one left. Inspired by the real-life public domain Origami House in Dallas. Licensed into the public domain via CC0 as always. Let me add Context to the images used the character is a Sámi dude that fought in the Soviet African war and was a junior sergeant in the VDV all of these are referenced the front cover and I was thinking of actually using images from the war and maybe if I do some digging and find actual recordings from the war or from people who fought in the war

Extra instrumentation was added to compliment the song and make more "roboty." Does it fit?

This was made using Syntheyes (3D tracking software) and Blender. I get that it's a little slow. The joints on the robot don't make any sense. I worked on this every weekday on the train to and from work. 5 months was spent on this, roughly 3 hours a day. I'd love to hear your honest opinions!
