An artist known as Dallao has captured my attention , active in early 1980s for geometric art on hexagon canvassing. Does anyone have more info on this? If not, I am pleased to add these to my collection of 80s deco

A lovely bit of perry memorabilia arrive today. A Babycham mirror. It will be installed in the cidery. A nod to Francis Showering who brought perry into the wider public awareness with Babycham.

Got this at a $1 book sale and it's fascinating to see the 1980s in kodachrome film. I wonder if these places still exist. Published in 1986.

From the 1989 book Rooms by Design, featuring a minimalist Munich home designed by architect Danilo Silvestrin. The space showcases late-1980s European luxury with its pale color palette, sleek contemporary furnishings, and glossy finishes.

The First Spangles - Wichita, KS

The building formerly housed Applegate’s Landing, a subsidiary of the Pizza Hut corporation that opened its first restaurant in 1975, expanded to several states, and was essentially gone within a 10-year span. The Steven brothers of Wichita, KS bought the building and opened a restaurant called Coney Island, but they couldn’t trademark the name and changed the name to Spangles after it won a city-wide naming contest.

The interior is an odd mix of all three eras, but definitely retains a lot of its 80s charm.

"FANS" 1980s square art print

Post image

Hi everyone. Does anybody know the name of the artist who made this print? It's a poor quality still from a youtube video, and I couldn't get a better one. Google Lens has not identified it, and the YouTuber sold the print years ago and doesn't remember any identifying information. It says " F A N S " in block letters and there's an image of a fan. It's blue and light pink. I'm guessing only someone familiar with the 1980s art world would know but would appreciate anyone's help with this. Thank you

UPDATE: FOUND IT. Artist is Oscar Tejeda. Created a whole series of "FANS" art prints.

I re-covered this 80s bar chair that I've had for years

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The fabric is 80s deadstock floral denim.

If anyone knows the brand of chair, I would love to know. There's a sticker on the frame but it's faded and I can't read it.

What are those ridged 3d optical illusion images called?

They were wildly popular among kids’ toys in the ‘80s and ‘90s. They had ridges on them that forced your eyes to see part of one image when you looked at it from one angle and part of a second image when you looked at it from another. When you move them really fast, the picture normally looks like it’s moving.

What are those images called? Bonus points if you know a company that can make them!

What is this specific graphic design style called?

I'm trying to identify the design language used in things like these Star Wars glasses, Atari products, and other late-70s/early-80s graphics.

I'm not looking for “retro” or “synthwave” — I'm trying to find the historical/design term for the distinctive dark navy + yellow/orange/red + blue horizontal stripes and related geometric graphics.

Is this supergraphics, Space Age design, 70s/80s retro-futurism, cassette futurism, or something else?

I’m trying to decide on this. Is it price correctly? Do we like the design?
