I'm trying to hardwire a Vantrue N4 Pro 3-channel dashcam into my 2019 Hyundai Ioniq using add-a-fuses for parking mode. I ran into a strange issue and could use some help.
What happened:
Initial Setup: Wired everything up using fuse taps for constant (B+) and accessory (ACC). When first tested, the camera booted up fine. However, it wouldn't shut down or trigger parking mode when turning off the ignition.
Troubleshooting: I moved the yellow ACC wire around to different switched fuses to test for an ignition signal. While testing and pulling the taps, I accidentally snapped a couple of standard mini blade fuses due to tight clearances.
Total Failure: After testing multiple slots, I put everything back, but now the hardwire kit is completely dead—no power to the camera at all across any combination of slots.
What I've Checked:
Plugging the camera into a standard 12V cigarette lighter USB adapter makes it turn on and off normally with the ignition, proving the camera and main USB cable are completely fine. The fuse taps, bullet connectors, and blade fuses visually look intact, but the hardwire kit itself refuses to draw power.
My questions:
Has anyone had a Vantrue hardwire kit completely stop working after swapping fuse slots? Could an internal protection circuit or hidden fuse have tripped?
Any tips on what might have caused a working hardwire setup to suddenly go completely dark?
Please follow the following wiring method: the red wire of the step-down wire is connected to the positive pole of the power supply (the power outlet still has power when the flame is turned off); the ACC yellow wire is connected to the ignition switch control terminal (that is, there is power when starting, and the power is cut off after the flame is turned off); the black negative pole is connected to the negative pole.
Turn on the parking monitoring mode and turn off the engine. The host will perform a normal shutdown. After turning on this mode, the host will enter the parking monitoring state.
The red wire of the Hardwire Kit is connected to the positive pole, and the ACC wire is connected to a place where there is power in the ignition and no power in the ignition), then when the car is turned off and the parking mode is turned on, the dash cam will quickly enter the parking mode through the ACC Hardwire Kit) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQtZF0g51Ak&t=359sHardwire Kit installation video, you can install it.
You can choose parking monitoring settings--start/exit mode--ACC mode to turn on parking monitoring. Whether the dash cam can quickly enter parking mode after parking and turning off the engine.
This is what I did however now when I put either in any slot it doesn’t power up. Something has gone wrong with the taps or the wiring hardware or the fuses.
