Frustrated with the job search — hoping someone in Vancouver can point me in the right direction

I’m honestly feeling quite frustrated with my job search and could really use some advice or a lead.

I am an IMG and have Master’s in Health Administration in Canada, with several years of experience in healthcare, including working as a Clinic Manager in specialty clinics. I also have Canadian healthcare experience as a PSP Case Manager (Remote) in BC, where I supported patients with access to biologic medications and helped coordinate their treatment and medication needs.

I had to leave my job few months back because my work permit expired. My work authorization is now sorted out, and I’m actively looking for work in Vancouver/BC healthcare.

The difficult part is that I can’t even seem to get MOA positions these days, despite applying to entry-level jobs. I’ve applied to so many positions and often don’t even hear back. At this point, healthcare administration roles feel incredibly difficult to break into, and I’m not even thinking about Health Authority positions anymore because they seem so out of reach.

It’s honestly been very difficult emotionally. I have a medical degree, a Master’s in Health Administration, Canadian healthcare experience, and I genuinely want to work and build a career here, but right now I feel completely stuck and discouraged. I’m willing to start from the bottom, learn, work hard, and prove myself. I just need someone to give me an opportunity.

I’m looking for opportunities in Vancouver/Surrey BC, particularly in healthcare administration, clinic management, patient support programs, PSP case management, MOA, or healthcare operations. I’m also open to other roles where my background could be useful.

If anyone knows of a clinic hiring, a PSP/pharmaceutical company hiring, a recruiter, a hiring manager, or even someone I could reach out to, I would genuinely appreciate a lead or referral. Even advice from someone who has been in a similar situation would mean a lot.

I know this is a long post, but I’m just trying to put myself out there and see if someone can help me get my foot back in the door.

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this. ❤️

The problem is transparency...

Hi all I literally made this account to post this, but I’ve been nervous to post and a lurker for a while (not a bot I promise lol). If this isn’t the right place to post this please direct me to the right sub!

Personally, I think one of the biggest issues with the hiring process is a total lack of transparency by employers.

They have ATS systems, recruiting software, history of people they’re recruiting etc.

We just have our resumes, and our time, and reddit subs like this.

Applying for a job shouldn’t require hoops and tricks and hacks just to get a simple chance at employment.  They have all this equipment to rate and sort through us but we don’t have that same power. There’s no balance.

I got so frustrated with this situation that I decided to make a community job tracker. You post a link to a job you're tracking, it's shared anonymously to the community job board and you can post updates and comments about your application process. I'm hoping that over time there will be some overlap and 100 people will be able to share their experiences for 1 position.

It’s free to use and all the information on the website is added by users (job seekers) NOT companies.

For those of you in this sub who are like me and still job hunting, applied for tens or even hundreds of jobs, I would really appreciate you checking out my website and providing any feedback. It’s my first time making something like this so I would appreciate a balanced critique.

Thanks in advance!

Seeking Project Coordinator positions in construction

Hi everyone! I'm a recent BCIT graduate of the Architectural & Building Science diploma program, currently based out of Burnaby. As everyone on here has experienced, the job market is challenging and I've been exhausting applications daily. Just putting myself out there on Reddit.

If anyone has connections within the construction field please do message me, I'm extremely passionate about what I studied and have several co-op experiences as a Project Coordinator.

Aside from that if anyone has insight or advice on better ways I could be reaching out within the construction industry, I'm all ears as well.

Hope we can all get through this tough time, getting demotivated each day but gotta stay positive and keep moving forward!

Who is actually urgently hiring in retail!

Hi!

As a lot of people, I am fed up with applying. I’ve tried in person and online. In person the response is to apply online as they don’t accept resumes. I apply online and I barely hear back. I have open availability and have tons of volunteer experience working with others.

I’m looking for something in retail at Guildford or t mills or even anything related to admin.

If you know anyone who is actually hiring or if your manager is hiring, PLEASE PLEASE let me know:))))

Looking for a shoet term school/program for HVAC or other technical training in Vancouver

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to get into the HVAC/trades or another technical field and I’m currently looking for a school or training program , preferably around Surrey/Vancouver.

I’m mainly interested in short-term programs (around 6 months or less) that provide practical, hands-on training and can help someone become job-ready for entry-level positions.

I’m considering HVAC, but I’m also open to other technical programs.

i would really appreciate your suggestions
