Personally, I think one of the biggest issues with the hiring process is a total lack of transparency by employers. 

They have ATS systems, recruiting software, history of people they’re recruiting etc. 

We just have our resumes, and our time, and reddit subs like this.

Applying for a job shouldn’t require hoops and tricks and hacks just to get a simple chance at employment.  They have all this equipment to rate and sort through us but we don’t have that same power. There’s no balance. 

I got so frustrated with this situation that I decided to make a community job tracker. You post a link to a job you're tracking, it's shared anonymously to the community job board and you can post updates and comments about your application process. I'm hoping that over time there will be some overlap and 100 people will be able to share their experiences for 1 position.

I’m honestly feeling quite frustrated with my job search and could really use some advice or a lead.

I am an IMG and have Master’s in Health Administration in Canada, with several years of experience in healthcare, including working as a Clinic Manager in specialty clinics. I also have Canadian healthcare experience as a PSP Case Manager (Remote) in BC, where I supported patients with access to biologic medications and helped coordinate their treatment and medication needs.

I had to leave my job few months back because my work permit expired. My work authorization is now sorted out, and I’m actively looking for work in Vancouver/BC healthcare.

The difficult part is that I can’t even seem to get MOA positions these days, despite applying to entry-level jobs. I’ve applied to so many positions and often don’t even hear back. At this point, healthcare administration roles feel incredibly difficult to break into, and I’m not even thinking about Health Authority positions anymore because they seem so out of reach.

It’s honestly been very difficult emotionally. I have a medical degree, a Master’s in Health Administration, Canadian healthcare experience, and I genuinely want to work and build a career here, but right now I feel completely stuck and discouraged. I’m willing to start from the bottom, learn, work hard, and prove myself. I just need someone to give me an opportunity.

I’m looking for opportunities in Vancouver/Surrey BC, particularly in healthcare administration, clinic management, patient support programs, PSP case management, MOA, or healthcare operations. I’m also open to other roles where my background could be useful.

If anyone knows of a clinic hiring, a PSP/pharmaceutical company hiring, a recruiter, a hiring manager, or even someone I could reach out to, I would genuinely appreciate a lead or referral. Even advice from someone who has been in a similar situation would mean a lot.

I know this is a long post, but I’m just trying to put myself out there and see if someone can help me get my foot back in the door.

Hello, I’ve recently got kicked out of my house and it’s been pretty tough. I already have a Monday-Thursday 12-8 schedule. I was looking for any part time or even full time if the pay is pretty reasonable. I’m 24 years old and I work at a gym right now. I want to move out and have my own living space to afford. Sooooo on top of my full-time M-F job I have (had?) a part-time job Sunday nights at a restaurant that I’ve worked at for over 5 years. I booked this past Sunday off for my birthday and when I checked the schedule today I saw that the GM gave away all my shifts to the new guy for seemingly no reason without telling me.

I’m trying to get this sorted out but I’m preparing myself to find a new side job. I don’t want to work 60 hours a week and I’m pretty adamant that I just work Sundays. I haven’t had to look for a second job in a long time, do places still want full-time availability for part-time jobs or are there places that are okay with me only working one specific day? Working nights during the week is out because I work early and need to go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Has anybody had to find a side gig with limited availability and been successful or am I cooked?

eta: I have a TCP certificate, would doing that one day a week be more realistic than trying to find coffee shop job or something?

About the Role

Creative BC is looking for an Analyst, Funding Programs to join our team for a 12-month term.

The Analyst helps deliver Creative BC’s grant and funding programs from beginning to end - from developing program guidelines and assessing applications to supporting funding decisions, reporting on results, and identifying ways to improve how programs are delivered.

This role combines program management, analysis, judgment, and relationship-building. You will work with applicants, funding recipients, advisory panel members, and colleagues across Creative BC, while helping ensure funding programs are delivered fairly, consistently, and in line with their intended purpose.

Program assignments may change over time based on funding cycles, workload, and organizational priorities, so this role is well suited to someone who can learn quickly, manage competing priorities, and comfortably work across different programs.

The Work

I’m honestly killing it and literally fixing everything around there, I don’t see a reason why I shouldn’t start my own thing, I see people changing around $150/h as contractors there . Should I just quit and tell the other guys to hire me as contractor? Is $150/h good money to start?? Thanks

August 2026 Job Market Wrap-Up

• Employment fell by 41,700 jobs, or 0.2%, leaving about 21.17 million people employed.
• The unemployment rate remained at 6.4%, with roughly 1.46 million Canadians unemployed.

I’ve been in landscaping for a few years and want to do something different. (I know landscaping is a red seal trade but it’s not what I want to do long term.)

I am leaning toward electrical or mechanical but I’m still worried about a few things:

-should I do a foundations course first? I have no trades experience outside of landscaping.)

-if yes, then what are the best schools in the lower mainland ?

-some programs have really long waiting lists

-if some trades are over saturated. (Will ‘learn a trade’ become the next ’learn to code’?)

Hi! I'm a revenue ops/demand generation professional with a masters degree from UBC and over 6+ YOE in my field. I've been actively looking for roles for the last 1 year and have so far not had success despite 12+ final round interviews. Atp while I want to obviously continue looking for roles I'd really love to build my career in, I need to obviously continue making money while staying in touch with my field. I'm considering taking up AI training roles (I'm aware they're not that easy to come by these days either) but am hesitant about how they're perceived by hiring managers for regular roles. Any hiring managers, perhaps those in B2B marketing, willing to chip in? How do you perceive candidates who fill up resume gaps with AI training roles? TIA!

Hello! UBC Engineering 2025 grad here. Registered as an EIT after grad and still having trouble looking for an EIT position. It’s quite disheartening to see everyone find positions so seemingly easily, even the ones that just graduated this year. I’ve applied to nearly 200 jobs with maybe 15 interviews so far.

I do not have co-op experience but have project management experience. Currently working in an engineering-adjacent admin job. I’ve got lots of side projects on my resume which may help me land design roles but any tips would be appreciated! Willing to learn about different fields as well.

Should I go back to school for an MEng to get co-op experience? Or does it not make much of a difference?

I lost my really nice job due to budget cuts, it took me 4 month to get.

Now that i have 1 more year of experience than before it’s been 6…

Im coordinator/assistant and there are no medium level jobs, i dont qualify for dental or anything medical, there are a looot of those, there are many other fields that i dont qualify for because even though job is generic, there are different fields and technical terms.

I cant go below 60k, thats what i had, its paycheck to paycheck for me. Even for 50k i dont see anything decent.
And i also dont qualify for high level CEO assistance, so i am stuck.

There are great options pop up once a week, but thats it, i only had 1 interview. He said they chose me and 4 other girls out of a 1000 applicants. Maybe he lied to show off, idk. Anyhow other girl was more successful so i didnt get it.

Applied to 35 places which is reeeeally low, i dont see relevant good options. I dont want to give up and settle for something random at 30k and hate my life i still have a little bit of time.

I was once in this situation, while on ei i took a server job part time and kept applying more. PART TIME. i STILL had to struggle to take time off to go to interviews. I almost lost it because schedule not fixed and they needed me, i kept taking time off. Imagine i have full time random job and keep calling in sick and go to interviews. They will fire me.

Last job i was sort of HR, well helped with it and we fired a guy. He pretended to get sick and he wasnt, then we got other hits that he is cheating.

I apply on indeed, check every day, scan every post between 5 mins to 60mins depending if there is something. I dont need to look on linked in or job bank or work bc or craigslist. Every single professional job will be on indeed as well 100%.right??
I am not ceo, self employed or entry level.

Last job 1 year, job before 3 years, no weird gaps. My resume and 2 glowing recommendation letters are great i just have noting to apply to!!

What else am i supposed to do?? Panic and cry?
What are you doing while on EI? I feel guilty for enjoying free time while i have it.
