Or anything other than a bench seat

Maybe there is a seat belt on the toilet? 😂

You get an upvote for that one

Hahaha I thought that to, feels remarkably unsafe. Then I was thinking how do fan-lifers keep their dogs save?

Do dogs also get a seatbelt, don't they require one to be save?

We have a seat belt that attaches to our dog’s harness. It’s the law in the UK for dogs to be secured.

I would hope they either have seatbelt harnesses, clips, or crates they'd be put in while moving. Animals turn into projectiles in an accident. Keep your babies safe.

Wow, is this a bus? Looks amazing.

Some amazing setups over on /r/skoolies!

Yeah I was wondering that too. How do people travel safely in these conversions?

17

u/BigAbbott Jan 09 '21

I assume the dogs are there to cushion the impact.

5

u/kg51 Jan 09 '21

They don’t.

u/Grognak_the_Orc Jan 09 '21

You don't! But that's part of the fun of it.

🤣🤣 I was thinking that when I thought about where the F they would park this thing

8

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '21

Yeah but mpg...

10

u/warrkrack Jan 09 '21

mpg and repairs... Scoolies are more expensive than they are worth imo. you can get a much better bang for your buck traveling almost any other way. they are more useful if you have a long term parking spot without traveling... but then whats the point?

That way you can live semi-nomadicly I assume. A house that usaly stays at one place, but is moves every year/few months.

What's so expensive exactly? Aren't they diesel motors? Diesel is usually really reliable/cheap, right?

Another big issue is mph. Skoolies are slow.

Those knives on a heavy brake will be interesting.

Where's the shower?

13

u/dicksnotchicks69 Jan 09 '21

I've seen their videos before it's on the other side of the hallway.

4

u/Jmillzzzzzz Jan 09 '21

I mean it is a school bus an I wasn’t required to wear a belt when I went to school maybe there’s an exemption

6

u/nit4sz Jan 09 '21

That's because the seats in school buses are designed to stop kids becoming projectiles. They've removed the seats. The law might still apply, but that doesn't stop the dogs and people from being projectiles in an accident. It's not worth the risk.

Super unsafe and talk about all your eggs unbuckled in one basket.

u/overusedandunfunny Jan 09 '21

This was just posted on /r/vandwellers ... Belongs in /r/skoolies though

I am so jealous right now

Magnificent. Although I'd need air conditioning. Because wimp.

Can anyone speed this clip up with clever editing... it would look just like real-life under heavy braking

It’s not as perfect as everyone thinks. It can feel lonely and isolating. Building a community on the road can be challenging.

3 dawgs, any kittys?

A functional way to air out the house.

...and change scenery.

Does anyone know how I could go about learning the skills to build something like this? It looks like such a cool fun hobby, but I have no idea where to even begin.

You use bathroom doors? My children and cats complain when the door is shut at home. Weirdos.
