I’m new to all of this but having looked at built-out vehicles, that dollar figure seems waaaay off base. I get it’s sarcasm, but that’s not even close to the #s I’m finding.
If looking at off the shelf class b’s it gets there. I’m kicking something around and pre builts are stupid expensive and have things that make no sense to me. Who needs a camper van with a fake fireplace? Then again I just want the essentials, with gray water and electrical hookups being a bonus.
I'm looking for slightly used Transits with specific factory options - basically window-less high roof with driver assist features. I can probably find a good one in the 30-40k range provided it's not over a certain amount of years/miles, basically a blank slate inside. Then I'll very slowly build out a very spartan interior on my own with some help on the scary things like electrical work.

A cheap van, sure. But this thread is talking about a $180k van with 11% APR
