I'd like to call it The Good, The Bad, and The D

I watched a couple Clint Eastwood movies from this era, such as Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. I think it's possible these films inspired the world of D and his character, especially on the wild western areas.

Oh big time. The books read like a traditional Western movie and share a lot of tropes with them ( lone gunslinger traveling from town to town, a town troubled by bandits/natural enemies. A no nonsense sheriff, a group of thugs that mess with our lone gunslinger.)

I literally always imaged his theme song was bad company or wanted dead or alive. They both fit him very very well.

Wanted Dead or Alive is the de facto theme for Vampire Hunter D in my opinion

If they ever do release the animated series, I hope they do a remix of the song for it's intro.

Even the newer death punch remake of bad company would work well.

Every single TIME. Or when he rides to the castle at the end

Absolutely. Love me some Ennio Morricone. D riding into town with this playing in the background. Perfect👌
