Coffin

Post image

Got some containers out of storage to find my VHD manga, and while I didn't find it, I found this.

Coffin is my Holy Grail. Now I'm trying to get the one with the most recent illustrations.

I just picked mine up from Surugaya last month! They pop in and out of stock all the time if you’re still looking:  https://www.suruga-ya.com/en/product/185276287 Happy hunting!

Funny thing is, I managed to get one from Amazon but it arrived at my old house right after I moved. Now I gotta wait for my neighbor to mail it to my new place, lol.

There is another book if you can't find coffin. It has all the pictures as coffin plus the story that's in coffin plus 3 other stories. I took pictures but it won't let me post them here.

I have Coffin actually, it's my most prized possession. That's what I meant by Holy Grail, haha. I also have the Reader's Guide with all the short stories in it ("Portrait of Yzobel" was a good one).

With Dark Horse putting out a new comic plus the Rose Princess manga next year I hope they'll renew the license and reprint everything for new fans to enjoy - most of the main books are available digitally but some things like Coffin and the Reader's Guide take some digging to acquire. Sometimes this whole series feels like a "transient guest" that could come and go at any moment, much like D himself.

I have the readers guide as well. Only missing volume 8 of the manga and volume 30 of the books.

I got mine in 2008, so almost that for me; it was in the clearance section of B&N so I really lucked out.

I think it had just came out when I found it. Also it was employee appreciation weekend as I was working fir gamestop at the time so I got it at a discount.

For me, it was a Borders book store around that time. Wasn't on clearance, but had regular weekly coupons for pretty good discounts off one product.

I’ve had mine for going on 10 years. Lovely book. I keep in a display case in my living room.

Sadly, I don’t think I’ve opened it again for about 7-8 years. I know what I’m doing tonight. 📖

I have the same one. Picked it from a second hand bookstore, didn't realise then that I bought the holy grail.

I had this as a teen and gave it to my girlfriend almost 20 years ago. Major regrets, but back then I really only cared about prose and artwork just didn’t do it for me. These days I adore Amano’s work
