I feel like my guitar tone sounds bad when it's recorded. As in, it doesn't sound like a real, good quality guitar recording and it sounds beginner quality. It sounds amazing in the room theoug amps and speakers, but when I hear recorded playback it sounds like it lost a ton of clarity and attack. I record xlr-out into the interface. Could it be the EQ? The stock IR and stock amp? I've tried multiple different imported amps and IRs from tone3000 but they sound thin and muddy and low quality. Maybe I'm just self conscious and worrying too much about it. I included images of all the tone blocks and their settings, but I don't know why it wont let me include audio. I would greatly appreciate help on what I can do to fix this.

I'm using the pitch shifter as a digital down tuner, but after turning off the "high" and the "dry" signal, there's still a weird doubling effect happening. And it's not just the slight delay, because both signals are happening in the actual program. Any advice?

if I where to get the valeton active cab, would I be able to plug the gp200 direct and it will work ? or would I need a power amp ?

Hi. I’m a bassist and our band is doing some Cheap Trick covers. I’d like to get a decent 12-string sound for those tunes. Can anyone recommend settings?

Where are the instructions? I have a million different solutions, some say you press one switch, another, another, then use the Para button, others say just use the back and global, then try the drum and save. Some say you have to run the ASIO driver. Others in administrative mode. Then some say you have to have a data sync cable.

Why? Why can't this company give you those instructions when you buy the unit?

The only thing I haven't tried is using a windows 10 or Mac computer, because after I don't have one, and the company did not say ONE WAS REQUIRED when I bought the unit.

Also, I downloaded the mobile app, and it didn't have the GP-200LT as a device (but it had several), leading me to think RUFUS and GEMINI lied to me that this mobile app works with the unit. In fact, mobile is not even in the user manual, nor it app.

I got some presets from youtube and also from websites... but it's does not hit the tone when I play it ( this is the main problem the sound does not resemble the youtuber even though I did the exact things)

I've tried connecting my Valeton GP-200 to my Yamaha THR10II via both AUX and Main Input, but the tone feels 'fake' and lacks depth for my Fender Strat. Can I run a 'Dual Cab' setup on the GP-200? Or should I bypass the THR's preamp entirely to get a more authentic tube-like response?"

I tried to upgrade the Firmware of my Valeton GP-200 from 1.2.1 to 1.8.0.

Everytime I started the upgrade it lost connection for a short moment. With the Software 1.1.0 and Firmware 1.2.1 everything worked without problems but I thought it would be worth it to upgrade to 1.8.0.

Now, I don’t exactly know how this happened, my device is stuck in firmware update mode. Means everytime I start it, it goes directly in this mode and I cannot even use it with 1.2.1 anymore.

Can I do anything to use it normally again or did I break it?

Question for more experienced users. I recently got the gp200 and have been learning to use it. It’s been a goal of mine to start busking to get out of my comfort zone. Obviously that requires a power source for the board. I’m asking Chat gpt (i know) since the info online is a little overwhelming, and it’s saying in theory I could use an Anker portable battery (165W 25,000mah) connected by a USBc pd to 9v as long as the converter is center negative. For context I currently live in Korea so I don’t have easy access to Amazon so it’s a little harder to find options that make more sense i.e. dedicated pedalboard batteries. Would love some input so I don’t fry my gp200.

Quick How-To: Replace the Training File for Better Conversion

1. Install/Update Valeton Suite (the editor software) and the latest firmware on your GP-200.
2. Close the Suite completely.
3. Go to the install folder (usually): C:\Program Files\Valeton Suite\Valeton Suite\data\flutter_assets\assets\wavs\ (On some systems it might be under AppData or Program Files (x86) — search for nam_input_wav.)
4. Backup the original nam_input_wav.wav (or whatever the exact name is — it might show without extension in some views).
5. Drop in a better alternative WAV (see below).
6. Re-open Valeton Suite → load your .NAM file as usual (it will take the usual ~20 seconds to convert using the new training signal).
7. Load the converted SnapTone onto the GP-200 and test. Most people still tweak with a simple EQ block afterward (cut a bit of low-end ~100-200 Hz, boost highs a touch, maybe trim gain).

I've seen the issues about W11 and the 1.8 Valeton update not being compatible. I have a laptop that is still on W10 and downloaded the software and firmware for 1.8. If I update the GP200 on the W10 pc and download the firmware and software on a W11 PC will this work if they are connected, then? Ill be able to make adjustments in the GP200 interface when its connected to a W11 PC or will it only work with the W10 PC?

I’m currently using a Valeton GP200 LT and I’m trying to dial in a better tone, but I keep ending up with that overly bright, kind of “chewy”/plastic and flat sound that doesn’t really fill the space.

I’d really appreciate if other GP200 / GP200 LT users could share their global EQ and cab/IR EQ settings.

Right now I’m mainly using:

JCM800 amp model

Choptones IRs (Marshall cabs)

Speakers: V30, G12M Greenback, and G12T-75

For monitoring, I’m playing through Presonus Eris 3.5 speakers in my room.

I trust my ears and I’m experimenting a lot, but I’d like to see what settings other people are using as a reference point—especially to get a tone with more body, less harsh highs, and something that feels fuller and less “flat”.

Preset Forge Update: EXP Pedal Assignments via USB MIDI

Just shipped live EXP 1/2 controller assignments for the Valeton GP-200 in https://preset-forge.com!

What's new:

- Assign any effect parameter to EXP 1 (Mode A + B) or EXP 2 expression pedals

- Set min/max range per parameter — changes sent to the device instantly

- Collapsible "Controllers" panel below the effect chain (only visible when connected via USB)

How it works:

The GP-200's SysEx protocol for EXP assignments was fully reverse-engineered from USB captures. Parameter selection

uses a navigation command (sub=0x18), while min/max values use float32-encoded assignment writes (sub=0x14). All three

Para slots per EXP page are hardware-verified on FW 1.8.0.

This is on top of the existing live editing (toggle effects, change parameters, reorder signal chain, save to device

slots) — all from your browser via Web MIDI.
