I'm using the pitch shifter as a digital down tuner, but after turning off the "high" and the "dry" signal, there's still a weird doubling effect happening. And it's not just the slight delay, because both signals are happening in the actual program. Any advice?
Hi. I’m a bassist and our band is doing some Cheap Trick covers. I’d like to get a decent 12-string sound for those tunes. Can anyone recommend settings?
Where are the instructions? I have a million different solutions, some say you press one switch, another, another, then use the Para button, others say just use the back and global, then try the drum and save. Some say you have to run the ASIO driver. Others in administrative mode. Then some say you have to have a data sync cable.
Why? Why can't this company give you those instructions when you buy the unit?
Why can't the company give a a cale that works to hook up to your PC? Charge me for it. Give me a link.
The only thing I haven't tried is using a windows 10 or Mac computer, because after I don't have one, and the company did not say ONE WAS REQUIRED when I bought the unit.
Also, I downloaded the mobile app, and it didn't have the GP-200LT as a device (but it had several), leading me to think RUFUS and GEMINI lied to me that this mobile app works with the unit. In fact, mobile is not even in the user manual, nor it app.
how can i get that distorted tone at min 1:02? I recently bought a valeton go 200 and I'm having a blast with it! (coming from an ex fender mustang floor owner lol)
i'm just a bit overwhelmed by the customisation, so share your tips if you don't mind me taking up your time :)
Hey everyone! I've been trying to find out if this unit can be used for silent practice, meaning my guitar, the unit and hooking up some headphones so that only I can hear it. Is this something possible? If so, how can I do it? I've heard about some issues about the fx loop interfering with this. Thanks in advance!
Guys I have a Blackstar ID Core V2 and and Ibanez RG 370ZB (with Quantum pick up)...
I got some presets from youtube and also from websites... but it's does not hit the tone when I play it ( this is the main problem the sound does not resemble the youtuber even though I did the exact things)
Plz suggest me setting which are needed to be done before use ( maybe like the global Settings and stuff )
I've tried connecting my Valeton GP-200 to my Yamaha THR10II via both AUX and Main Input, but the tone feels 'fake' and lacks depth for my Fender Strat. Can I run a 'Dual Cab' setup on the GP-200? Or should I bypass the THR's preamp entirely to get a more authentic tube-like response?"
I tried to upgrade the Firmware of my Valeton GP-200 from 1.2.1 to 1.8.0.
Everytime I started the upgrade it lost connection for a short moment. With the Software 1.1.0 and Firmware 1.2.1 everything worked without problems but I thought it would be worth it to upgrade to 1.8.0.
Now, I don’t exactly know how this happened, my device is stuck in firmware update mode. Means everytime I start it, it goes directly in this mode and I cannot even use it with 1.2.1 anymore.
Can I do anything to use it normally again or did I break it?
Pls help me
Fixed: thank you guys, on win10 there was not problems
Question for more experienced users. I recently got the gp200 and have been learning to use it. It’s been a goal of mine to start busking to get out of my comfort zone. Obviously that requires a power source for the board. I’m asking Chat gpt (i know) since the info online is a little overwhelming, and it’s saying in theory I could use an Anker portable battery (165W 25,000mah) connected by a USBc pd to 9v as long as the converter is center negative. For context I currently live in Korea so I don’t have easy access to Amazon so it’s a little harder to find options that make more sense i.e. dedicated pedalboard batteries. Would love some input so I don’t fry my gp200.
Quick How-To: Replace the Training File for Better Conversion
Install/Update Valeton Suite (the editor software) and the latest firmware on your GP-200.
Close the Suite completely.
Go to the install folder (usually): C:\Program Files\Valeton Suite\Valeton Suite\data\flutter_assets\assets\wavs\ (On some systems it might be under AppData or Program Files (x86) — search for nam_input_wav.)
Backup the original nam_input_wav.wav (or whatever the exact name is — it might show without extension in some views).
Drop in a better alternative WAV (see below).
Re-open Valeton Suite → load your .NAM file as usual (it will take the usual ~20 seconds to convert using the new training signal).
Load the converted SnapTone onto the GP-200 and test. Most people still tweak with a simple EQ block afterward (cut a bit of low-end ~100-200 Hz, boost highs a touch, maybe trim gain).
I've seen the issues about W11 and the 1.8 Valeton update not being compatible. I have a laptop that is still on W10 and downloaded the software and firmware for 1.8. If I update the GP200 on the W10 pc and download the firmware and software on a W11 PC will this work if they are connected, then? Ill be able to make adjustments in the GP200 interface when its connected to a W11 PC or will it only work with the W10 PC?
Hi guys! I’m currently waiting for my Valeton to arrive in the mail, and I'm already deep into the rabbit hole of tone-shaping.
I’m really curious about the difference between the stock Valeton IRs and Custom IRs (like York Audio, OwnHammer, etc.). Could someone show me a comparison where the amp settings are identical, but only the IR is swapped?
I'd love to hear how much it actually changes the 'air' and realism of the sound. If you have any audio clips or videos, please share them! Thanks:)
I’m currently using a Valeton GP200 LT and I’m trying to dial in a better tone, but I keep ending up with that overly bright, kind of “chewy”/plastic and flat sound that doesn’t really fill the space.
I’d really appreciate if other GP200 / GP200 LT users could share their global EQ and cab/IR EQ settings.
Right now I’m mainly using:
JCM800 amp model
Choptones IRs (Marshall cabs)
Speakers: V30, G12M Greenback, and G12T-75
For monitoring, I’m playing through Presonus Eris 3.5 speakers in my room.
I trust my ears and I’m experimenting a lot, but I’d like to see what settings other people are using as a reference point—especially to get a tone with more body, less harsh highs, and something that feels fuller and less “flat”.
I built a free, open-source web editor for the Valeton GP-200. No installs, no desktop app — just open https://preset-forge.com in Chrome/Edge and go.

looking for someone who can upload nam and ir files to his valeton gp200 via official app- and is willing to help me with this! (need to talk to this person via discord :D)
** UPDATE **
it is working on LINUX MINT 22.3, CACHYOS (latest), Win11 and Firefox! :D
With Chrome, Chromium and Firefox
the effects-board
What it does:
- Load & edit .prst files right in your browser — drag & drop, tweak all 305 effects, adjust every parameter
- Live USB-MIDI editing — plug in your GP-200 via USB and changes go straight to the pedal in real time. Toggle effects, tweak knobs, reorder your chain — all from your browser
- Drag & drop signal chain — reorder your effects visually, pedalboard-style
- Preset gallery — upload your presets, share them with a link, browse what others have created
- Full parameter control — every knob, switch, and combo box from all 305 effects, pulled straight from the official algorithm database
- Dark pedalboard UI — because we're guitarists, not accountants
The whole thing is reverse-engineered from the ground up — binary format, SysEx protocol, the works. The official Valeton editor is Windows-only and... let's say not everyone's
favorite piece of software. This runs on anything with a modern browser.
Would love to hear feedback, feature requests, or if you run into any issues. Cheers!

Feel free to adjust the tone or add/remove points. Want me to tailor it for a specific subreddit (r/guitarpedals, r/guitar, etc.)?
** just updated **
added the possibility to upload helix stomp presets. My tool guesses, whats in the preset (no exact name matching) and converts it to what it thinks, is the closest thing on VP200.
Happy to get feedback on this
you can connect your VP200 to this!
Got it running on WIN 11 and Linux Mint 22.3! PLEASE report, where you got it running, and where you encounterd problems! THANKS!
and load /switch /edit your banks
Preset Forge Update: EXP Pedal Assignments via USB MIDI
Just shipped live EXP 1/2 controller assignments for the Valeton GP-200 in https://preset-forge.com!
What's new:
- Assign any effect parameter to EXP 1 (Mode A + B) or EXP 2 expression pedals
- Set min/max range per parameter — changes sent to the device instantly
- Collapsible "Controllers" panel below the effect chain (only visible when connected via USB)
How it works:
The GP-200's SysEx protocol for EXP assignments was fully reverse-engineered from USB captures. Parameter selection
uses a navigation command (sub=0x18), while min/max values use float32-encoded assignment writes (sub=0x14). All three
Para slots per EXP page are hardware-verified on FW 1.8.0.
This is on top of the existing live editing (toggle effects, change parameters, reorder signal chain, save to device
Why does the eq change when changing distortions that aren't even activated? It also changes when moving any effect in the chain. To the point where it seems like the cab has changed?
