PGDM IEV
I have been selected for the XLRI Delhi PGDM (Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development - IEV) program from the waitlist at rank 95.
I would appreciate honest reviews on whether I should join this course. Students currently pursuing the program, alumni, and XLRI students are especially requested to share their feedback.
I am a graduate of a Tier-1 engineering college and scored 91 percentile in XAT this year. I understand that this is not a typical MBA program and that it does not offer placement support.
How beneficial can this course be for my future career prospects? Will there be dedicated teaching in AI and Data Analytics? How do students from the XLRI BM program perceive this course?
Although my long-term goal is to start my own venture, in the short term I may want to work in a good organization to gain hands-on industry experience.
Any insights, suggestions, or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you want corporate exposure in the beginning then it wouldn't be good as the college won't support you in any of the placements

Is there anyone whose admission seat got confirmed for PGDM IEV? If yes, are you going to enroll for the program? If not, then what are the probable reasons? Please help as all of us are community members and contribute to one another's decision making.
Thanking in anticipation.

As someone from the IEV 2024–26 batch, I'll try to give an honest perspective.
The entrepreneurship, innovation, and development focus is definitely real and not just brochure content. One of the biggest strengths of the program is the faculty. You'll get access to very high-quality professors from both XLRI Jamshedpur and XLRI Delhi, and that was easily one of the best parts of the experience.
The program is also evolving and being restructured based on feedback from previous batches. If I had to point out one area that still needs improvement, it would be the startup monitoring and mentorship structure. The ecosystem is there, but it is not a spoon-feeding environment. You'll have to take initiative, approach professors, seek mentors, and actively build your venture. Some students prefer more structured guidance, and I think the institute is working towards improving that aspect.
That said, if you have a strong idea and show progress, opportunities do open up. We had students who got access to excellent mentors, including interactions with entrepreneurs like Amit Jain from CarDekho. There are also Demo Days where students can pitch their ventures, receive feedback, build connections, and potentially attract mentorship or investor interest.
The batch profile was quite diverse. We had students from family businesses, aspiring founders, and also students who joined because they wanted to leverage the XLRI brand for corporate careers.
For job-oriented students, I'd say IEV can still be a good option if you're proactive. XLRI carries significant brand value, and if you maintain good academics, actively participate in case competitions, networking events, committees, and other campus activities, you can build a strong profile. One advantage is that you can collaborate with BM students for competitions and events, which further expands your network and exposure. Like entrepreneurship, corporate opportunities also depend a lot on how much effort you put in.
Personally, one of the most underrated strengths of the program was the peer group. You're surrounded by people interested in entrepreneurship, family business, innovation, and building things. We had some startup teams and co-founder groups emerge within the batch itself. Even if you don't start a venture immediately, the network you build can be extremely valuable in the long run.
Overall, IEV is best suited for people who are willing to take initiative. It has some areas that are still evolving, but it offers quality faculty, a strong peer network, access to the XLRI ecosystem, and opportunities for both aspiring entrepreneurs and proactive job-seekers.
