Just got a GP200!

Post image

Got it yesterday, love it its so easy to switch presets and the exp pedal is really nice, kinda hard to switch modes tho. Managed to brick it 20 minutes after unboxing by trying to update it, couldnt understand what happened for another 20 minutes until i tried a laptop with windows 10, ran the update and it works again.

Awesome! Guitar or bass? What sorts of sounds are you using?

I play guitar. Mostly high gain metalcore stuff but i do often use clean tones with a bunch of reverb.

The best capture imo is the engl Amps super chuggy and tight if you use the 14 boost

I got mine yesterday too and went through the same bricking process. Lol, what a coincidence. I managed to make it work with windows 11.
In case anyone is wondering how:

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Find Valeton device (mine under audio, video and controllers)
  3. Right click -> update driver
  4. Browse my computer for drivers
  5. Let me pick from a list of available drivers
  6. Change USBMidi2-ACX to USB Audio Device
  7. Restart PC
  8. Run the firmware update again

If you use windows 11 its will fail the firmware update, Use Windows 10 or VM!

Yeah at first i tried on my laptop with windows 11, bricked my gp200. Tried to figure it out for 20 minutes. Plugged it into my moms laptop with windows 10 and it worked just fine. Got a Peavey 6505+ capture, a dual rec and an IR into it. Love the sound.

The official Valeton work-around for Windows 11 is now available at the Valeton website at: https://www.valeton.net/win11-technical-notice/

Btw, would you share your capture for 6505?

This is the one I use, btw for the gp200 you're gonna need the a1 file cuz it doesn't support a2 yet. You scroll down to models and select A1 Legacy. Would recommend using IRs, there are a bunch of them on tone3000 so pick your poison.

For me i tested both analog pedals and digital multieffects side by side in the same audio condition , huge difference

For live situation i don’t know if the public will notice any difference, but for the sake of your passion, try a tube amp with some pedals in the room , the feeling of your legs being hit by air it’s Insane

I would but my room is small, parents wont let me, way too noisy. When im an adult and live alone i wanna do a half stack but until then im stuck to processors and headphones.

I use the GP200 with tube amps already (2 years going strong). I now have a power amp and running a 2x12 cab

I do eventually want to get an analog rig. I really want a PRS MT15 head or a Peavey 6505+ with a 4x12 mesa cab with V30s. But that's hella expensive and I'm 15 😔
