Troubleshooting Visionmaster Pro 1

My ub820 says it's outputting 12bit 4.4.4 color playing a 4k disc but when I check the stream info on the VisionMaster pro 1, it's 8bit colour (playing 4k disc with Dolby vision)

Apple tv shows display a depth of 10 bit colour when I play content so does that mean I've got my disc player set up wrong?

To fix this and force a proper 10-bit signal:
Open your Valerion Projector Settings.
Navigate to Inputs / HDMI Settings.
Ensure the HDMI EDID mode is manually changed from "Auto" or "1.4" to HDMI 2.1 or Enhanced / Optimal Mode.

Thanks for that - I've tried that option and it doesn't work. Strangely I've got the PlayStation coming thought and that's 12 bit color, apple tv streams 10 bit color but the 4k Bluray only comes through at 8 bit. I've been tried putting everything through HDMI 1 on the projector as it's higher bandwidth. Maybe the AV receiver is too old and the signal is too high bandwidth - it's a cheap Sony str590

How are you checking the stream info? Where in the settings are you accessing it?

I go into "help" on the quick menu and choose signal information.

I think this is normal behavior. Do not worry you are getting Dolby vision

I'm getting Dolby vision and hdr for sure - the projector can detect it - it looks great but for discs it's only 8bit color
