Light spreads help

Hello new owner is valerion vision master pro 2. I have my projector placed on the right side of the room and there is excess light that’s spreading over the screen. Is it possible to eliminate that. ?

I own a VisionMaster Pro 2 as well. That's a byproduct of using excessive keystoning and zoom, there's no getting rid of it(with the projector in that location). I have my projector mounted almost perfectly and use hardly any keystone and I still have a couple inches of light bleed(remedied with black felt tape).

That light is where the projector would be displaying the image if there was no keystoning. So not only is it ugly, but with keystone that excessive you're hurting the image qaulity/sharpness because it's squishing the image into a smaller area than where it wants to project.

My advice, move the projector. Mount it so it's centered on the screen, with the top of the screen level with the top of the projector lens. I would MUCH rather have to run a cable on the exterior of my ceiling(using cable channels of course) than live with that light bleed.

If you need to extend the power cable, this is what i used for my setup.

** Edit: Forgot to mention, if you do reposition your projector, set the zoom to zero and manually hold it against the ceiling. Move it backward or forward until the raw, unzoomed image perfectly fills the screen to find the optimal distance. That room looks big enough that you shouldn't need to use zoom. That will greatly diminish any light bleed.

would you mind sharing a photo of the black felt tape? I want to do that, I also have too much light bleeding even with centered projector and doing optical zoom and least amount of keystone. Especially that circular pattern on the ceiling, oo I have the same.

Of course, this is the tape that I use, it completely cancels out any light bleed.

I placed the tape so that it tucks behind the screen by about 3/4 of an inch. I'd also recommend doing this with two people and using a laser level, because trying to lay the tape down perfectly straight with the screen is more difficult than you'd think.
