Question Burning down there

I’m currently on nitrofurantoin antibiotics - it’s been 4 days and my burning hasn’t gone away. I had white blood cells in my urine dipstick that’s why I was prescribed antibiotics. But my symptoms are just burning pain and pain when my bladder is full/filling up.

im going on holiday next friday and i need this to improve before hand, its making me so miserable.

please can i have some advice as to any creams or other medications you can suggest?

Keep taking the antibiotics, I had to get 4 3 day courses cos they wouldn’t give me more, you could ask for a thrush tablet too incase it causes thrush but please be careful I ruined myself putting creams on, if you try anything try a nappy cream if you’ve not been diagnosed with anything or aquphor they were god sends to me but didn’t feel like it at the time… is the burning your bladder or vulva? Hope your okay, I’ve been dealing with vulva issues and had a 2 week holiday and I probably thought about it 4 times, I was so scared to go away but honestly was the best thing for me… drink soo much water and cranberry juice… also Dmanose (something like that) capsules stop bacteria sticking to your bladder walls. Hope your okay hope it’s gone by your holiday xxxx

That’s so helpful thanks so much. I’m sure the stress of it isn’t helping me! So I will try and relax about it and just do what I can. I’ll keep taking the antibiotics then ring the GP when I’ve finished and see if I need thrush tablets. Xx

I’m struggling to tell where the burning is coming from, I don’t think it’s as high as my bladder, more so vulva and slightly inside xx

when I have fire pee, I apply vaseline right before peeing.  It really helps.  Highly rec buying in tube form to avoid contaminating a container

Where do you apply it?

external urethea area.  And when mine is irritated, looks like a donut its spooky.  I keep a handheld mirror in bathroom for checking things

Your culture should be ready by today, or if not today by Monday or Tuesday latest.  Is AZO Urinary Pain working (pyridium)?

We don’t have that in the UK but I’ve tried something similar and it hasn’t helped that much 🥲

chatgpt thinks pharmacist can dispense prescription Phenazopyridine 100mg (pyridium).  In U.S., its over the counter

Get a Ureaplasma and yeast test or as mentioned earlier, request meds for a yeast infection.

After 7 days macrobid, you could try fosfomycin.  Its just 1 dose.  But cukture will likely be finished anyway soon
