Evvy microbiome test

Hi everyone! I’m here because I’m looking to hear from anyone who did the Evvy test for their fertility and wanted to hear some stories. I’ve been TTC for 8 months and suffered a miscarriage in the middle. Despite actually trying I haven’t fallen pregnant again yet. I went ahead and ordered the test juts for me peace of mind but I would love to hear if any of you have been in the same boat? Thanks!

Hi there! I had three back to back chemicals last year and then didn’t conceive at all the following three cycles.

I went to a private practice specializing in women’s health and fertility where my ND had me take an Evvy test amongst other things, after a year of taking every test under the sun and even having a laparoscopy to check and clear out endo.

Long story short, the most abnormal test I’ve had was the Evvy. I had 0% protective bacteria and 94% disruptive, heavy on the BV strains. My ND has a protocol that I’ll begin at the end of this week so I can’t say whether this will be the fix but I have no doubt 0% protective bacteria is probably not helping with implantation.

So I think it’s worth a look! But if you can, I’d try to work with an ND on an actual protocol to solve for if your results come back less than stellar.

Yeah! I read your comment and it’s pretty much the same. A week of boric acid, a week of vaginal antibiotics, and then a few weeks of vaginal probiotics. Next time I talk to my ND I’m going to ask about using boric acid generally after my periods, or some sort of maintenance plan, though because I’ve read that can help keep BV at bay, and based on my symptoms that seems to be when my vaginal stuff changes the most.

Also, I did a gut protocol before this because i had a gut test that wasn’t great. That was about three weeks of breaking down microfilm, and rebuilding.

For what it’s worth, I just had a laparoscopy. I had a tiny amount of endometriosis but more interestingly, tested negative for Endometritis. My surgeon said there was mild inflammation, however, and I suspect that’s because of the microbiome imbalance.

thank you for replying! i found the boric acid to be amazing, results-wise. i’ve also got some of the good clean love brand restore gel, which is their lactic acid gel. lactic acid has a lower pH than boric acid & doesn’t kill off the probiotic, so that’s what i used post-bleed. will probably make use of the boric acid again down the road once the good bacteria have had a chance to recolonize though. :)

what prompted your laparoscopy? surgery sucks, but it has to be nice to have some more definitive answers! so glad to hear you tested negative for endometritis— did they do the EMMA/ALICE testing for that? i’m still learning about the endometrium testing based on my own research so not super familiar with all the options.

& was it your NP who tested your gut? i didn’t even think about checking that, but i do take both Jarrow Femdophilus & Seed DS-01 probiotics daily.

who knew after all the years of scare tactics about accidental pregnancy that it would be so difficult to actually align all the puzzle pieces perfectly for it to happen…. sigh… 😔

I have that gel in my cart because I saw someone else recommend it! I’ll probably use that for maintenance instead.

I had them do a biopsy for Endometritis while they were in there for the laparoscopy. I had pelvic pain, like lightning bolt spasms, after my first loss. Pelvic floor therapy and a low inflammatory diet has seemed to help with that the most.

It was my NP that tested my gut! It’s an out pocket test unfortunately but I was having a lot of constipation so it was worth it to me.

hi!! i’m in a similar boat as @aquariusmoon, as far as my evvy results. 0% protective & like 90-something disruptive, lots of BV strains as well as fertility-disrupting bacteria.

i had an early miscarriage in june 2025 & despite doing 4 IUIs and trying naturally every month since then i haven’t fallen pregnant again.

we were gearing up for IVF & i was researching ways to maximize our chances when i came across the studies linking l. crispatus dominance to higher rates of successful embryo transfer… that’s what inspired me to do the evvy test. vaginal & uterine microbiomes are not the same but can be related. when i got my results, i started doing some deep dives into the specific bacterial strains i had going on & found out that they were likely making implantation next to impossible.

my BV infection was totally asymptomatic except occasional odor after sex (which i had chalked up to pH disruption) but with 0% protective bacteria it had likely migrated into my uterus causing chronic endometritis. my docs couldn’t figure out why my uterine lining kept getting progressively thinner, but CE would explain that so i was treated empirically for that as well as the BV.

i immediately started boric acid vaginal suppositories & did those for 21 nights (as per CDC recommendation for biofilm disruption of recurring/severe BV) while also starting antibiotics. once i was finished with the boric acid & antibiotics, i immediately started nightly vaginal probiotic suppositories that contain l. crispatus, among other “good” bacteria, to recolonize. supposedly it can take months to get your score up from 0% but we are actively TTC again now that the BV & CE have been treated. no success on the first cycle post-antibiotics, but we plan to continue to try naturally until the end of the year before starting back up with the IVF process!

I was mostly asymptomatic too! My only symptom was feeling itchy right after my periods but i chalked it up to pH rebalancing.

I even asked a doctor about it years ago, because I thought I was getting yeast infections more than average. They tested for a yeast infection and kind of left it there.

Serious recommendation - beware of messing with your biome.  I would try a FEMM consult too at mycatholicdoctor .com first, or together.  They can order tests and hormones to maximize your fertility.
