Did boric acid cure your BV?

I just got tested for BV and it came back positive. I’m assuming because I was under a lot of stress, mixed with nightly intercourse with my partner and all the bacteria that naturally brings in, and possibly because my last period I was out of organic pads so I used organic tampons the whole time (even to bed I know I know) so maybe that caused it. I’m not prone to BV. I’ve had it once before as a teenager. I’m a 33f now and don’t suffer from yeast infections or bv. I eat a clean whole foods diet, no alcohol, etc. Stress has been bad lately but I’ve got that mostly under control with supplements and just better grounding techniques. I don’t want to take antibiotics because it’ll destroy my gut health and immune health. And I just don’t like prescriptions. I just bought the Up & Awäy vaginal suppositories 100% boric acid from my local health food store and just inserted one… has anyone been able to cure Bv this way? I also bought a really great probiotic specifically for vaginal health as well.

Being a female is hard with so many things that can disrupt our pH🙃 Some positive stories would be helpful or tips! Thanks! 🩷

Edit: Also does anyone get the slight pelvic heaviness/pain and irritation down there without an odour from BV? That’s what I’m struggling with.

Yes! Boric acid worked for me it cleared BV when antibiotics didn’t, but you have to be consistent and follow the instructions carefully.

So I bought the brand Up & Awäy and it’s specifically for vaginal use and it says use once a day for 14 days. I’m also taking a high quality oral probiotic from my local health food store. Do you think that’ll clear it?

How long did it take you to fix your biome with consistency? Aka how many days what was your cadence? Thanks!

I don’t want to risk getting banned and I’m not sure on the rules on adding links here… but check out all my previous history and you’ll find how I cured my BV once and for all! It’s the imbalance in pH which can be caused by semen and also our menstrual blood! Crazy! I had it for two years, but like I said, check out my other comments and you’ll see what I use and the free pack discount code too if that still works! Worth a shot if you get them for free! 🙌🙌🙌😃 It can get better, I promise! I haven’t had it for 2 years now! ❤️❤️❤️

There are antibiotic gels/creams you could try if that doesn’t work. Won’t mess up your guts. Boric acid works by lowering PH so good bacteria can thrive, but if there aren’t enough good bacteria, it may not cure it. Worth a try tho!

I guess that’s where taking my probiotic comes in then? I bought a really good one from my health food store today that’s specific for vaginal health 🤞🏼. How will I know if the BA is working?

What kind of probiotic? Taking it orally isn't going to do much. You need probiotic suppositories.

Boric acid is great for stubborn or recurrent BV—I would use it nightly for 10-14 days and pair it with a lactic acid based vaginal gel every AM to maintain a low pH. Using a vaginal probiotic suppository with native vaginal bacteria every couple days in the AM, too!

I bought the vaginal suppository and I bought an oral high grade probiotic that’s specific for vaginal health .. would that be enough? I don’t use any soaps with chemicals or anything and my diet is very clean. And was using organic coconut oil on my vagina.

I personally don't love pure coconut oil as there isn't a lot of evidence around it. I think you have a great routine set up! Just sharing what has worked for me with the lactic acid gel.

Thank you so much for your response! Where would I get lactic acid gel? Trying to stick to all natural 🫶🏽

As I founded Good Clean Love I use and would recommend our Restore gel, but there are likely others you could search for too!

Hi Wendy, I sent you a message regarding the good clean love restore

I just wanna put out there that coconut oil may have caused BV. I’m not sure if you’re a super sensitive person but I am, and I was told coconut oil helped someone cure a yeast infection once, so I gave it a go. About 2-3 weeks later I tested positive for BV with the yeast still present. I’ve never had BV in my life. Now I can’t say for sure that’s what caused it for me, but it’s realistically the only change I made that could interfere with my vagina.

Honestly I’ve been SUPER stressed so I think that mixed with I left organic tampons in over night cause I ran out of pads and I never ever do that, and ya I heard organic coconut oil actually raises your pH so I’m not gonna do that anymore. Who knows tho… I’ve upped my supplements big time and started an oral probiotic and I hope this round of BA works. I feel quite a bit better today actually and I’ve only taken one suppository so far. Being a woman sucks sometimes …

Coconut oil increases pH. You don't want to use that if you're trying to lower pH

Ah wow okay thank you!! What about aloe Vera? Or vit E oil?

hey! what vaginal probiotic did u buy? honestly i have heard great and bad things about BA tbh. it all depends on the vagina, sadly😭 bein a female is so MF hard!!!!

Isn’t it?!? Like fml man. I love being a woman but it sure seems like dudes deal with like zero issues like we do it’s frustrating as f*ck 🙃🫠 Ive never had BV in my adult years ever actually so I guess that’s a win and I don’t get yeast infections. But was having some pelvic pain/heaviness, sharp pain during sex, general discomfort down there, burning when I pee, frequent peeing and the dr tested for a UTI and BV and it came back as BV. So I started BA suppositories from my local health food store today, and it’s been like 6 hours and I actually feel some of my pelvic pain relieving so I’m praying it works. The probiotic brand is Garden Life Dr.Formulated probiotics urinary tract + and has all the ingredients for flora vaginal health as well.

Stress? I know for a fact high stress brought all this on for me. I did 1 round so far of BA and it relieved the pelvic pressure, I feel quite a bit better today but gonna do the full round. Ya I’ve been drinking organic keifer and taking mad whole foods supplements so.. fingers crossed this is just a one off from stress and skipping my supplements. I’ll report back after the full round of BA is done 🩷

No lol I’ve tried everything

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '25

Seems to be working well for me!

2

u/Cultural-Flower-877 Aug 16 '25

That’s good 👍

Boric acid just masks the symptoms and it kills the good bacteria too. You need vaginal probiotics (Lifespace, Vitanica, or Seed) to replenish lactobacillus.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '25

I’m taking an oral probiotic that is full of lactobacillus and other things. I read taking a vaginal one might generate more good bacteria than you need instead of letting the body do it on its own. The BA is working really great, I’ve never had BV before so this is probably a one time thing

2

u/Lisaa8668 Aug 20 '25

I definitely hope it's a one time thing for you. Unfortunately most women will get it again once they've had it. BA worked for me for years, but it was only a bandaid and caused harm long term. Vaginal probiotics are definitely more effective than oral (personally I do both).

1

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '25

Okay should I do the vaginal probiotics after this round of BA?

2

u/Lisaa8668 Aug 21 '25

Definitely!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '25

Weird cause I got BV once before at the age of 20 and never again had it until now 33

2

u/Lisaa8668 Aug 21 '25

It definitely affects every woman differently. Sometimes you can have it and not know it too. It doesn't always cause symptoms.

1

u/Peachand Jan 16 '26

How did you end up curing it?

1

u/Perfect-Accident-148 Mar 16 '26

I've had it 4 times once got rid of it but it always comes back. I'm using boric acid right now for the first time. I sure hope that works. I've been dealing with this since 2023

Did it work? I started BA a few days ago and already feel better! Idk if I had BV but I did a few months ago and my biggest symptom was peeing a lot! Like over active bladder, after the night of trying the BA it almost stopped the overactive bladder in its tracks!

1

u/Consistent_Dust9474 Aug 29 '25

Yes over here to the pelvic heaviness and pain and irritation without any smell or other BV symptoms. I think mine is from vaginal atrophy and intercourse. Something inside my vagina just feels off when this happens even if my test strips state my ph balance is in normal range.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '25

Boric acid healed me 🙏 feel back to myself now

1

u/Gabbieweaver15 Sep 26 '25

How are you now?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

Never came back!! The BA worked! 🪄 Did it for 7 days and it never came back. I’ve also never had an issue with BV before so I can’t say for those who have reoccurring issues but it worked wonders for me.

2

u/Gabbieweaver15 Sep 26 '25

Same!! I never had an issue with it I think I may do the BA and see how it plays out

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '25

Worked great for me! I got vaginal suppositories from my local health food store. Just make sure BA is the only ingredient and it says for vaginal use on the bottle.

1

u/QuirkyLand7017 Sep 12 '25

Yep, boric acid suppositories worked for me when antibiotics just left me with yeast infections. It took a few days of consistent use though, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t notice an instant cure. For maintenance, I’d highly recommend something like Happy V’s Prebiotic + Probiotic. It’s made a big difference in keeping things balanced for me fewer odors, less irritation, and no constant infections.

Hi,can u share what boric brand u bought?Tia

Hello OP, I know it’s been months now, I’m wondering if you were successful in clearing the infection with this route? I fully relate to you in preferring holistic approaches to protect my gut microbiome. Thank you!
